The film marks the second directorial effort from Shinji Araki who debuted at the helm with 2020 mystery drama, The Town Of Headcounts. He directs from his own script which sees Wakaba in the role of Jun Iwamori, a grieving man who after successfully carrying out the perfect plan to avenge his murdered girlfriend, Yui (Yamashita), finds himself mysteriously repeating the same day and killing Yui’s murderer, Mizoguchi (Iseya), over and over again. The details of Jin’s character are under wraps.
Kino Films, a subsidiary of Kinoshita Group, is currently in production on the pic with plans for release in Japan next March.
Notably, the film also marks Iseya’s return to acting since reportedly facing drug charges in late 2020. Some of his other recent appearances include Hideki Takeuchi’s Fly Me To The Saitama, and Ken Ninomiya’s Tonkatsu DJ Agetaro, as well as Izuru Narushima’s 2021 novel adaptation, A Morning Of Farewell.
Iseya took to Instagram to confirm the project in a post which you can view below.
