Yep, I’m a fan too.

If there was any doubt to the matter that Lyca Productions would deliver on its ‘Magnum Opus’, they pretty much quelled the issue upon releasing the first wave of Shankar’s 2.0 teasers back in September. The official trailer is now online however, and to that effect, details the narrative as sick as ever in inducing hardcore sci-fi good-versus-evil in the mix. Enter Superstar Rajinikanth who returns to the Enthiran fold from 2010, reprising his dual role as Dr. Vaseegaran and his brainchild, Chitti, now upgraded and rebooted to take on a cybervillain using smartphone technology to conquer Earth. This is definitely a bare-handed allegory on mankind’s self-destructive addiction to technology if ever, cranked up to fricking eleven. No two ways about it. Also starring is actress Amy Jackson while Akshay Kumar takes the mantle as the rivaling supervillain menacing Earth as we know it. November 29 is the date, done […]
Fans pining for a sequel to the 2010 sci-fi blockbuster, Enthiran, are finally getting a pristine glimpse into the long-awaited spiritual sequel, 2.0. The first official teaser trailer went live on Thursday, host to the re-emergence of actor ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth back in dual roles once again playing innovative scientist and inventor, and Chitti, the centerpiece of the 2010 film. The events in the first installment delivered a rousing tale about our principal robot character created by the brilliant Dr. Vaseegaran (Rajnikanth). Learning and growing at a rapid rate and often performing heroic acts, Chitti incidentally also becomes an unwitting burden as an automous being unknowing of societal norms. Chitti gets into fights, things get destroyed and tragedy strikes and as if that weren’t enough, he falls in love with Vaseegaran’s girlfriend and is soon corrupted by Vaseegaran’s competition. The rest is history, as they say – epic robot legion showdowns […]

2010 saw the critical and commercial success of S. Shankar’s multi-award winning blockbuster sci-fi thriller, Robot, now readying an Amazon release next year. That milestone achievement continues next year with 2.0 from Shankar returning to the helm for actor Rajinikanth reprising the role of embattled A.I. robot, Chitti, and his creator Dr. Vaseegaran. Robot is currently available on Netflix for anyone who wants to catch up. For now, here’s a behind the scenes look on the sequel: With director Stefano Sollima taking on the daunting task of following up Denis Villeneuve’s Sicario, Soldado aims to open up even more on the world the first film immerses you in. Josh Brolin returns along with Benecio Del Toro in the respective roles of DoJ task force handler Matt Graver and underworld hitman Alejandro staving off terrorists crossing the border while squaring away with old foes. Colombia Pictures is setting a June 29 […]
