Fans left disappointed by what they were dealt in 2002’s Black Mask 2: City Of Masks, didn’t exactly come away empty handed… For all intents and purposes, it provided the fandom with the refreshing arrival of burgeoning stars Andy On and Scott Adkins who went on to perform well in their own respective endeavors. Shout! Factory officially launching its U.S. trailer as of Friday ahead of a theatrical and digital release beginning June 7, reuniting action star front runners Scott Adkins (Boyka: Undisputed 4) and Andy On (Once Upon A Time In Shanghai). Quinn (Scott Adkins), a member of a SWAT unit, steps out of a park fountain in an Asian city with no recollection of who he is or where he came from. Another man on a desperate search for his missing wife… That’s the narrative you can immediately pluck from the first official trailer for Roger Corman/Henry Luk-produced thriller, Abduction, from Red Sea Media. Director Ernie Barbarash joins once more with action star Scott Adkins of Assassination Games, and in turn, reuniting Adkins with actor and martial arts star Andy On nearly seventeen years since starring as opposites in Tsui Hark’s Black Masks 2: City Of Masks. The films looks surprisingly more sci-fi than anything given what we see in the trailer now compared to previous updates. Last week saw the first 25 titles to start the five-a-day countdown through December, and so here’s five more toward the goal of 100: Enter The Fat Dragon: Considered one of the biggest titles for buzz during the American Film Market as sales art was emblazoned on Screen International’s front page (the same artwork people cropped and called a “new poster” ?), Kenji Tanigaki’s directorial debut may be first on the menu for Donnie Yen fans. A titular homage to a Sammo Hung classic, Donnie Yen plays a Hong Kong top-cop whose personal romantic hang-ups compel him into massive, depression-induced food consumption.
