THE GRAY MAN: The Russo Brothers To Direct Espionage Adaptation For Netflix, Ryan Gosling And Chris Evans To Star

Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans are set to star in The Gray Man for Netflix, according to Deadline‘s Mike Fleming Jr.. The film further reunites Evans with directing duo, MCU favorites Anthony and Joe Russo, and screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The update comes following years of the IP’s languishing development, firstly at New Regency, and most recently at Sony under the stewardship of The Russo Brothers as of 2015 via The Tracking Board. At the time of that particular report, actress Charlize Theron was circling the project, and no word of it is mentioned in Fleming Jr.’s new report. Joe Russo Seals Scripting Deal For EXTRACTION 2, Hemsworth And Hargrave Expected To Return

A new report at Deadline revealed on Monday that producer and director Joe Russo has locked a deal to pen the script for Extraction 2 for Netflix. The first film launched on the streamer on April 24, signaling a reunion for Joe and brother Anthony Russo, producing out of their AGBO banner, with industry stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave making his feature debut, and Chris Hemsworth starring and producing. Storied and scripted by the Russos with inspiration from Ande Parks’ 2014 novel, “Ciudad”, Extraction saw the story of Tyler Rake, a stoic former soldier-turned-black ops mercenary who finds himself battling enemies on all sides on the streets of India, to rescue the son of an imprisoned crime boss from his vicious rival. Actor Michael B. Jordan is still poised to take the lead in a revival of classic heist pic, The Thomas Crown Affair. For this, there’s word from Deadline that Marvel movie directors Anthony and Joe Russo may be in the running to helm the project. As Mike Fleming Jr. notes, the news comes just as the two sibs, founders of their AGBO label, inked a deal with MGM and officiated “a multi-film non-exclusive creative partnership to co-develop, co-produce and co-finance a slate of projects” from the MGM library. Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway starred in the title role in the 1968 flick from director Norman Lewison.
