I found some cool Japanese poster art for director Alan Taylor’s Terminator Genisys via cinematoday on Friday, and there’s no doubting that this film has already fired up a huge conversation about its validity with regard to the essence of the previous films. The film reboots the franchise for a new trilogy that now puts Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke), taken in and raised from childhood by her accompanying T-800 model Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), and time traveling soldier Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) on a new mission that cuts right through the first film and pits them against a new cyborg killers, including an advanced model Terminator formulated into the body of John Connor (Jason Clarke), once the leader of the human resistance against Skynet. The forthcoming reboot this summer with Terminator: Genisys hasn’t been all hype and excitement, but the production so far seems keen on introducing as much of the unexplored source material as possible which could be a good thing. It’s really just a matter of who cares at this point, but nonetheless, if this franchise is something you’ve already grown to appreciate even as its mainstay, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has found a way to stick around despite his age, chances are you’ll love this one, and with any luck, director Alan Taylor‘s work here will forsee the new trilogy waiting to happen. More than three decades after launching a cult phenomenon to the world of sci-fi forever, the Terminator franchise is rebooting this summer for the first of a fresh new trilogy, Terminator: Genisys. The film featuring a brand new slate of actors filling in key roles from the previous films, with Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke and Jai Courtney starring alongside actor Arnold Schwarzenegger whose presence aims to further validates the new trilogy. Check out the new poster! Granted, it’s likely not an easy task to achieve, but Paramount and Skydance are aiming at great lengths to help make this one work in the face of critics and moviegoers who might not be uneasy about the reboot. Director Alan Taylor‘s forthcoming trilogy reboot, Terminator: Genisys is probably one of the most ambitious – if not highly anticipated franchises set to nuke the box office next year. Of course, that depends on which end of the spectrum you side with the most, and while some moviegoers may not favor remakes as much, the fact is that it will still arouse curiousity through good marketing, never letting anything settle on just what this new vision for the Terminator will have in its rebooted franchise form. For what its worth though, Paramount Pictures thinks it has something good going for itself, and the return of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger to reprise his role as the cybernetic villain-turned-hero from the future will no doubt make sure of that. The past two days have been nothing short of active in lieu of recently-revealed promotional pics from Entertainment Weekly’s exclusive coverage of director Alan Taylor‘s trilogy reboot starter, Terminator: Genisys. Based on EW‘s coverage, the film, writen by Patrick Lussier and Laeta Kalogridis, will forsee a revamp of the story that centers on iconic heroine Sarah Connor’s orphaned upbringing beginning at the age of nine years old upon the arrival of a Terminator who becomes her “guardian” who she addresses as “Pops”. Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has either starred in or appeared in all previous Terminator films dating back to helmer James Cameron’s successful first in 1984, is returning to reprise the classic role as the killer-cyborg from the future whose living tissue, sitting atop his metal alloy, has become the segway for the Terminator’s “aging” process while co-existing with mankind.
