With the fourth chapter of Lionsgate’s John Wick saga now filming and franchise co-star Ian McShane back on board as of Thursday for the role of Winston, all eyes of Wick fans are now on news that Good Lord Bird helmer and The Book Of Eli co-director Albert Hughes, will direct the first and third episodes of The Continental, a three-night event limited series which Hughes will also executive produce for Lionsgate and Starz. A prequel spinoff, Continental is set 40 years before the events of the Wick series and focuses on a young man named Winston. THE FUGITIVE: ‘Alpha’ Director To Helm A ‘New Spin’ On The Classic Mystery Crime Thriller

It’s almost exciting to see that a property like The Fugitive still carries such viability that it’s now par for the course now with a total of three revivals – the latest coming from director Albert Hughes (Alpha, The Book Of Eli) according to Deadline. The Fugitive originally premiered on ABC TV in 1963 with actor David Janssen in the role of Richard Kimball, a physcian framed for the murder of his wife and forced on the run from the law in order to find her real killer. Albert Hughes’ new period action adventure, Alpha, has a brand new trailer rolling out this week ahead of its advanced August release. This one takes on mild, albeit noticeably different tone compared to last year’s first trailer; the narration certainly lends a more family friendly tone whilst doing away with some of the more perilous shots introduced in last year’s promo rollout. My guess is unless folks have seen both, moms and dads taking their youngins may be in for something a little more thrilling than they thought but it still looks like a fun flick to bookend the summer movie slate.
