FROM THE WORLD OF JOHN WICK: BALLERINA opens in theaters on June 6, 2025 from Lionsgate
The John Wick franchise continues to grow even after the seemingly endmost events of Chapter 4 last year. For this, the saga has taken a few steps in that area and now with a new look into one of them with From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina, featuring Ana de Armas leading a cast of old and new faces from the roster. Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the film follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma. Len Wiseman is the man charged with steering the de Armas end of things from a script by Shay Hatten. The cast includes Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, and the late Lance Reddick in one of his final screen appearances to date. Also featured are Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Norman Reedus, along with Ian McShane, […]
CinemaCon kicked off its Lionsgate showcase on Wednesday in part with a look at the latest John Wick spin-off from director Len Wiseman. Therein confirmed is the film’s official title, John Wick Presents: Ballerina, as is the appearance of franchise star Keanu Reeves in the Ana de Armas-led action thriller. Barring a yet TBA synopsis, the film is set to take place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4. In the interquel, de Armas stars as Rooney, a ballerina on a mission to hunt down the murderers of her family. The film also features reprising actors Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane and late actor Lance Reddick in his final screen role following his passing prior to the release of Chapter 4. A trailer was also presented for the audience. The Wrap’s Kristen Lopez details the footage as follows: The early-look trailer shows Rooney, […]
The Gray Man and Knives Out cohorts Chris Evans and Ana de Armas are back at it again this time with Ghosted, the new action adventure comedy director Dexter Fletcher. The film is streaming exclusively on Apple TV+ and the company just launched its trailer on Monday. Salt-of-the-earth Cole (Evans) falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie (de Armas)—but then makes the shocking discovery that she’s a secret agent. Before they can decide on a second date, Cole and Sadie are swept away on an international adventure to save the world. I was actually surprised and impressed by how good this looks. If you’re eager to add to another action-packed viewing experience with de Armas front and center ahead of John Wick fan aspirations with Len Wiseman’s Ballerina, I think this is pretty opportune. It’s also got Street Fighter: Assassin Fist actor Mike Moh in the mix as well, which […]
One of the biggest icons of the XXth century, Marilyn Monroe, has finally got her long awaited biographical film. A film that its been surrounded by big controversy and has been despised by big part of Marilyn´s fandom. This non-biopic, is an adaptation of a semi-biographical fictional novel of the same name written by Joyce Carol Oates, So the approach of the film is not by any means a celebration of the myth or legacy of Marilyn but a ruthless portrayal of Norma Jean’s decadence, centering the story in her lack of a father figure, and her eternal quest of filial love. “Blonde” is a somber and deppresing journey that never gives an insight look of who Norma Jean really was, or how she became Marilyn Monroe. At any moment we get to know the woman or the myth, but we end up trapped in a tangled web of paranoia, […]

While Daniel Craig remains back-on-track with efforts toward the next chapter 007 chapter, the actor’s latest rollout is coming in November with Knives Out. The project was a hot-ticket item last year in Toronto along with a top-notch ensemble cast now headlining the new murder mystery opus. Plot details also remained underwraps for months as well but now that changes with the following: Acclaimed writer and director Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper, The Last Jedi) pays tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie in KNIVES OUT, a fun, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth […]
Park Chan-wook’s 2000 drama, Joint Security Area, is now the subject of Gladiator and Amistad screenwriter David Franzoni’s latest directing push according to Andreas Wiseman at Deadline. Actress Lee Yeong-Ae led the 2000 original as it centered on a Swiss/Korean investigator’s impartial inquiry into a violent incident at the Demimilitarized Zone between North and South Korean soldiers. The film is inspired by Park Sang-yeon’s own 1996 novel, DMZ. Franzoni’s treatment, titled officially JSA, will instead see its story unfold about a love affair between a U.S. Marine and a female Spanish infantry lawyer who is sent by The Hague to investigate a shoot-out between Marines and Mexican special forces. Starring with The Hateful Eight actor Demián Bichir is Blade Runner 2049 actress Ana de Armas who will play the lawyer. Terry Botwick, Paul Yi, Marcus Englefield, and George Lee are producing with Saboteur Media’s Nick Quested, David Kennedy and Mark […]
