Cameras are currently rolling on supernatural thriller, It Feeds. The film is being directed by Chad Archibald from his own script, for a cast led by Ashley Greene (Accident Man, The Twilight Saga) and Shawn Ashmore (Acts Of Violence, X-Men franchise).
Action star Scott Adkins and director James Nunn are two individuals who don’t let the labels of the film industry define them or the work they produce. Both have been frustratingly relegated to a tier in the movie-making system where the only way to get a film project approved is if it can be completed quickly and with a modest budget. Many, when faced with these circumstances, cut corners and lower their ambitions, content just to get something locked in before moving on to the next “for hire” gig. Nunn and Adkins are a different breed though. When faced with these limitations, both men have always strived, through thoughtful preparation and an intense work ethic, to make the highest quality film possible every time they have the opportunity. So, it’s not surprising that when the two have collaborated in the past that their combined efforts have delivered strong results. Admittedly, both of their previous films together, GREEN STREET HOOLIGANS: UNDERGROUND (aka GREEN STREET 3) and ELIMINATORS, are not the most well-known of either of their filmographies. They are however well-crafted films that show neither man is content with just getting everything completed on time and under budget. Nunn and Adkins want to raise the bar for what is possible with lower-budget action films. With their latest collaboration, ONE SHOT, they have done just that.
Make a note of Willy’s Wonderland and Mandy star Nicolas Cage with upcomers like The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent and Sono Sion’s Prisoners Of The Ghostland, both set to bear down on the masses at some point this year for festivals and commercial audiences. He’s got another on the way that’ll have him in setting foot in the bustling filmmaking environment over at the Cayman Islands for director Tim J. Brown’s (The Cradle, upcoming Buckley’s Chance) new action thriller, The Retirement Plan.
Director Jesse Johnson (The Package, The Beautiful Ones) is all about surprises as of late and with his latest, Accident Man, we’re bound for a plateful. For now, the word is out with the addition of actress Ashley Greene, prominently known for her role in the Twilight Saga, now cast as one of the leads.
Styled as an ultraviolent tale similar to Deadpool, Accident Man hails from the auspices of UK comic book publisher, Toxic!, created by Pat Mills in the early 90’s. Deadline reports that Greene will take on the role of Charlie, a woman with whom our protagonist, cavalier assassin and expert clean-up man, Mike Fallon, team up to investigate and avenge the death of Fallon’s beloved Beth.
Other credits and specifics haven’t been confirmed in the report but I’m almost certain that this will likely blow the lid off the action movie fandom ceiling in due time. Filming begins this month, so I advise you to stick around for more on Accident Man.
