Daring and righteous mercenary leader Jan Žižka (Ben Foster) is hired by Lord Boresh (Michael Caine) to kidnap the powerful Lord Rosenberg’s (Til Schweiger) fiancée, Lady Katherine (Sophie Lowe), to prevent Rosenberg’s rise to power alongside the corrupt […]
Writer/director Peter Jákl’s new period actioner, Medieval, didn’t exactly get the same kind of press push as other films, and it was published about eight days ago and has fortunately gone viral much through multiple uploads much to the team’s own delight. At any rate, I just stumbled upon it on Thursday and am inclined to do my part here as I’m part of the film’s target audience and share one with readers, as it stars Ben Foster in yet another banger of a role in which this time, he plays a legendary military general. Moviegoers who enjoyed the on-screen camaraderie of actors Chris Pine and Ben Foster in Hell Or High Water needn’t stray too far to look for another offering. Director Tarik Saleh’s The Contractor sets up a lean blend of stimulating international espionage with family drama, to top it all off with an insightful, multi-dimensional look into one man’s struggle to find meaning in his search of purpose for his family’s sake. Penned by J.P. Davis film opens with a dark, early morning intro into the isolated goings-on of special forces sergeant James Harper (Pine), training to get back into his unit after serving several tours with one mission resulting in a serverely injured knee with its own visible scars to prove, among a few others. His only other issue from that point on is the changing of leadership on his base when his efforts, albeit underhanded with the bending of […]

Pine leads the cast along with Kiefer Sutherland, Ben Foster, Gillian Jacobs and Eddie Marsan for its April 1 release in theaters and on digital. Chris Pine stars in the action-packed thriller as Special Forces Sergeant James Harper, who is involuntarily discharged from the Army and cut-off from his pension. Nearly a decade in the making, the long-awaited production of Czech period actioner, MEDIEVAL, finally has a star and start date.
The Palme d’Or is the highest level of accliam ever awarded at the Cannes Film Festival, and apparently it’s been considered worthy nominating for director Denis Villeneuve’s forthcoming Emily Blunt starrer, Sicario. This, no less, is a considerable achievement contributed thanks in part to good writing, and namely worth noting for Taylor Sheridan in lieu of his latest attachment to a new project witd director David MacKenzie whose own laurels span far greater with praise following his award-winning 2013 drama, Starred Up. That project would be the new action heist thriller, Comancheria, with actors Chris Pine, Ben Foster and Jeff Bridges set to star with filming beginning on May 26 in New Mexico. CBS Films announced its acquisition of North American rights for the new film in a press release this week ahead of Cannes which launches a week before then. Needless to say, these folks have a sure thing […]
