Having found its way into festival favor in the past year, Matthew Pope’s feature directing debut presents a stunning, dramatic glimpse into middle-American suburbia in cerebral crime drama, Blood On Her Name.
Director Matthew Pope’s Southern-Goth crime drama, Blood On Her Name, was a winning crowd favorite at the festivals last year. He shares scripting duties with writer Don Thompson for a story that brings actress Bethany Anne Lind to the forefront of a grisly tale of a desperate mother willing to do anything to protect her family.
Debut director Matthew Pope’s Blood On Her Name was especially of the more jovial feats for festivalgoers last year. Regrettably, I never got around to this title while it made the rounds for Yellow Veil Pictures at Fantasia, and eventually at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles for its U.S. premiere, but a release is definitely much closer now with with a day-and-date select theatrical and VoD rollout scheduled for February 28.
Debut director Matthew Pope and producer Don Thompson are currently readying their place at this year’s Fantasia Festival to showcase their latest offering, Blood On Her Name. The two also penned the film which will screen for the Cheval Noir Competition whereupon both will be on hand to host the film’s Fantasia rollout.
