Bob Odenkirk will star in Normal, from Free Fire and The Meg 2 director, Ben Wheatley. The movie reteams Odenkirk with Nobody producer Marc Provissiero, and its screenwriter scribe Derek Kolstad who is also producing. As Andrea Wiseman’s report at Deadline notes, Normal “follows the story of Ulysses (Odenkirk) who is thrust into the temporary role of the sheriff for the small sleepy town Normal after the previous one’s untimely death. When the town’s bank is robbed by an out-of-town couple, Ulysses arrives on scene to find that the town is hiding much more sinister deep-seated secrets under its surface and everyone – from the bartender to the priest – is in on it. And now Ulysses, who’s up-till-now focused only on running away from the demons of his past, must uncover the full extent of this criminal conspiracy.” Best known as a comedic and drama fixture, Odenkirk grew popularity […]
Being the prominent comedy writer he is, actor Bob Odenkirk spent two years getting in shape for his long-awaited action thriller, Nobody, from Hardcore Henry helmer Ilya Naishuller. So I was going to deprive myself of being a wisecracker and making fun of myself,” he said. “It’s hard for me to do a scene that’s utterly earnest. … And this goes for Better Call Saul, too. When I don’t get to have a little wink […]
Deadline’s exclusive this week writes that Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) is readying a new action thriller with STXfilms and Hollywood film production and action company 87Eleven. Nobody is the name of the project and has Odenkirk joined by Marc Provissiero through their Odenkirk-Provissiero production banner along with Braden Aftergood producing, and Derek Kolstad scripting. The story follows a man who comes to the defense of a woman being harassed by thugs, only to learn later that one of the men he put in the hospital is the brother of a drug kingpin, now out for vengeance. Kolstad, whose already full plate in the past year currently consists of a third upcoming installment to the current John Wick film franchise along with television spin-off, The Continental, as well as The Steward for Cristal Pictures and a Hitman series at Fox 21 and Hulu, will also executive produce. 87Eleven’s […]
