The Russo Brothers took to social media to reveal a first look at Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman as principal photography commenced for upcoming crime thriller, 17 Bridges. The image comes a day after trade source The Wrap confirmed the additions of Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons, actress Sienna Miller and actor Taylor Kitsch. Trade reports and press releases have confirmed Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman will lead, as well as produce STXfilms’ new action thriller, 17 Bridges. Brian Kirk (Luther, Game of Thrones) is directing the script written by Adam Mervis (The Philly Kid) that follows Boseman as a disgraced NYPD detective who, after being thrust into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer, is given a shot at redemption. Production rolls this September with Boseman rejoining writing and producing partner Logan Coles following their work on Working Title’s latest acquisition, The Stars In My Soul, and on Fabrice Du Welz’s Message From The King. 50 Shades trilogy star Jamie Dornan is switching gears as of this week with action thriller, Borderland, set to film in Dublin and London this summer. The BAFTA nominated actor will be joined by fellow actor Sam Clafin with BAFTA nominee Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones, Luther) directing from a script by Public Enemies scribe Ronan Bennett. Set in 1970’s London, Borderland is a high-octane character-driven thriller, in the vein of Michael Mann’s Heat. After his wife is accidentally shot dead in Ireland, a member of the IRA takes over an Active Service Unit in the English Capital. Their mission is to cause chaos and destruction while his mission is to hunt down his wife’s killer – an SAS captain (Sam Claflin) who is also hunting him. It’s been a while since we heard anything about Safe House scribe David Guggenheim’s script for 20th Century Fox’s planned production of Narco Sub, and not too long since action star Liam Neeson kicked off the year with two action thrillers of his own, Taken 3 and last month’s Run All Night. On that note, the latest report from The Wrap has confirmed the actor’s role in the new film in addition to TV veteran Brian Kirk‘s attachment to direct. Simon Kinberg and Ridley Scott will produce with executive producers Aditya Sood and Elishia Holmes of Genre Films and Scott Free Productions for Guggenheim’s script which will see Neeson under durress as a disgraced American naval officer forced to navigate a drug-loaded into the U.S. undetected.
