BRIGHT Illuminates With An Official Sequel Announcement From Netflix

Taken through the meat grinder by critics while heralded by viewers like myself, it was a likely matter of time before Netflix would officially plant its feet into sequel territory from David Ayer’s latest success story, Bright. Thus, the streaming giant made it official on Wednesday with a new comedy skit as seen below, and with reports that Ayer will direct, as well as pen the script in place of Max Landis who wrote the first film.
Stars Will Smith and Joel Edgerton led the film set in an alternative Los Angeles where humans, orcs and elves co-exist in a fragile state of peace in seperate classes stemming from a tumultuous history of conflict. That history comes to a head when two embattled LAPD patrol partners, Daryl and Nick, find themselves on a collision course with a dark elf and her two deadly enforcers a bust gone wrong with a fugitive elf girl carrying a powerful wand in her care.
Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless are also returning to produce the new film while cast additions and further announcements remain pending. That being said, while it is okay to observe what the critics have said, it will also service you to take consumers’ responses into consideration as well. Granted, Suicide Squad was crap but Bright is definitely not the shitshow the naysayers are making it out to be. Recommended.
