Writer and director Nicholas Kalikow is on deck to helm action-packed mystery caper, Carter & June according to announcements made via EFM. The noted Concrete Blondes (2013) helmer will be joined by Napoleon Dynamite producer Sean Covel with Diane Richey and Kyle Roper of Sacred Bull Media producing.
Described as an “action-packed, stick ‘em up, who dunnit caper”, Carter & June is set in a world populated by Dixie-land thugs, strippers, scam artists and gangsters. Michael Raymond-James of Jack Reacher and ABC series Once Upon A Time fame will play down-and-out New Orleans con man, Carter Jennings, who finds himself way in over his head when he nicks from the loot of someone else’s bank robbery in an attempt to pay off a debt to ruthless strip club owner.
FOX series Lucifer and ABC show Galavant actor Timothy Omundson will play Spencer Rabbit, the club owner to whom he is indebted with ABC series Resurrection actress Samaire Armstrong rounding out the cast. Jack Campbell’s Octane Entertainment has been at EFM shopping the film which is host to an original soundtrack by Robby Krieger, best known as the guitarist for the famed rock group The Doors.
