CHARLIE’S ANGELS Flies Online With A Brand New Trailer

I honestly don’t know if I can get behind Elizabeth Banks’ own rendition of Charlie’s Angels. I like the concept but it’s tether toward a younger audience along with an electro club redux of Donna Summer’s Bad Girls just wreaks of a lot of “if they can do it, I can do it too”-ness. The new trailer out on Friday certainly tries though, and I might give it a fair watch if I can. In Banks’ bold vision, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are working for the mysterious Charles Townsend, whose security and investigative agency has expanded internationally. With the world’s smartest, bravest, and most highly trained women all over the globe, there are now teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs everywhere. Roughly six months since wrapping principal photography, the new Charlie’s Angels reboot has an official trailer. Actress Elizabeth Banks (Perfect Pitch franchise) brings her own incarnation of the iconic spy team quarterback, Bosley to the fray while helming the new film based on the classic TV series. Director Elizabeth Banks takes the helm as the next generation of fearless Charlie’s Angels take flight. In Banks’ bold vision, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are working for the mysterious Charles Townsend, whose security and investigative agency has expanded internationally. It was back in 2015 that actress Elizabeth Banks would then follow-up her feature debut, Pitch Perfect 2, with a second outing as director behind Sony’s upcoming Charlie’s Angels reboot. That hasn’t changed, and with a trio of actress now officially listing Kristen Stewart (Personal Shopper), Naomi Scott in her reunion with Banks since Power Rangers and British actress Ella Balinska (Midsomer Murders) to headline the new revival of the classic all-female 1976 crimefighting espionage spy TV series. Jay Basu penned the latest evolution of the script along with Banks following drafts from Craig Mazin and Semi Chellas. It’s been a few years since we last learned that actress/director Elizabeth Banks would helm a theatrical reinstatement of classic television property, Charlie’s Angels. This week, casting is reportedly underway and several names are in the mix for roles, including those of actresses Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o. Banks, director of the hit musical comedy sequel, Pitch Perfect 2, will also produce the film for Sony Pictures with her husband Max Handelman. Based on the popular ABC series from 1976 to 1981, Charlie’s Angels centered on three women, accompanied by their associate, Bosley, who work various assigmments as private investigators for the Townsend Agency at the behest of actor John Forsythe’s speakerphone voice. Courtesy Of Sony I’ve never seen any of the Pitch Perfect movies (not exactly my cup of tea). However, the good news stemming from both films is the sequel’s huge success this year at the box office, a nod which goes to actress Elizatbeth Banks who debuted as director, and much to her credit as it’s now landed her in the position to direct another go-around at a reboot for Charlie’s Angels.
