Very little can be officially said early on with Tyler Atkins’s new MMA drama, The Beast In Me, save for what’s available now via Instagram. Thanks to actors Daniel MacPherson (Land Of Bad) and Bren Foster (Life After Fighting), we now have a brief look behind-the-scenes showcasing the looks of their characters in the film, including a polaroid of a bruised MacPherson which you can see in the first slide of his most recent Instagram post from over the weekend. The post comes a few weeks after Foster also teased his role in a seperate post hinting with the caption reading in part “New hair, new character, new movie, new fights!!…”. Filming took place over the weekend set against the backdrop of an event at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, as announced last Fall. Atkins directs a cast led by MacPherson, Foster, and Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator), from […]

I pretty much already have my Friday night planned for the week of February 2. This comes with the newest trailer for series reboot, Strike Back over at Cinemax following its run in the U.K. late last year and with a fresh new unit facing down the world’s evils whatever it takes. Disavowed and disbanded, the Section program is restored in order to track down a notorious terrorist following a brutal prison break. Tasked with covert military intelligence and high-risk operations, the resurrected unit embarks on a lethal manhunt that will uncover a vast web of interconnected criminal activity. As the team journeys across the Middle East and Europe, they uncover a deadly conspiracy that threatens to overwhelm them all and change the face of modern warfare forever. Warren Brown and Daniel MacPherson headline the new reboot with actresses Roxanne McKee and Alin Sumarwata, and with Nina Sosanya, Katherine Kelly […]

After ending its four season run on Cinemax in the Summer of 2015, my guess was as good as anyone else’s on what would become of the hit Cinemax/Sky series, Strike Back, if anything. Actors Sullivan Stapleton and Phillip Winchester led the show in its evolution as one of the most widely received military spy dramas to date and with uncertainty in the midst late last year, news broke last December of the show’s reboot with a fresh new cast roster, character breakdowns and possible story details. That reboot is officially taking shape as of the last several days and with Wednesday marking the first photo reveal of all four new Section 20 agents: Warren Brown (“Luther,” “The Dark Knight Rises”) as “Mac” McAllister, Daniel MacPherson (“Infini”) as Samuel Wyatt, Roxanne McKee (“Game of Thrones,” “Crossfire”) as Natalie Reynolds and Alin Sumarwata (“Burning Man”) as Gracie Novinas. Also joining the […]
I rarely get a lot of time for television most days. I do, however, try my best not to be too tedious when it comes to shows that get my attention in the best of ways – shows like the Sky/Cinemax series, Strike Back which ended with its fourth season just last summer. The series, which largely set its initial story within the purview of counter terrorism against groups like Al-Queda, followed a buddy cop formula with actors Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton as American and British military agents jointly operating within the covert ops Section program to take out the world’s most dangerous threats. Indeed, the show saw its fair share of twists, tragedies and so on and following the finale, it wasn’t long before a film was announced to be in development. News on that, if anything, remains pending. However, the trades are officially announcing news of a […]
Director Shane Abbess is making another return to the sci-fi genre this week following his recent intergalactic thriller, Infini. Today’s official announcement has more: Filming has commenced on Shane Abbess’ (Infini, Gabriel) new film SFv1. Aussie director Shane Abbess was sure to find his way to better prospects in Hollywood following his directorial debut in the 2007 winning Andy Whitfield starrer, Gabriel. Of course, that was before he decided that much of the progress he’d hoped for in Hollywood wasn’t going to come anytime soon due to market saturation and the unpopularity of original content and evidently moved back to Australia where he eventually found himself in greener pastures for his latest contribution to the sci-fi action genre, Infini, which surely looks to give longtime sci-fi fans something to celebrate. SYNOPSIS: An elite ‘search and rescue’ team transport onto an off-world mining-facility to rescue Whit Carmichael, the lone survivor of a biological outbreak. A teaser went viral last year and now we have a full trailer for the film’s upcoming May 8 limited release from Vertical Entertainment. Daniel MacPherson and Grace Huang are joined by […]
