Get Ready For Two Days Of DRAGONFEST Next Summer!

If you were one of the fortunate ones to attend this year’s revival of Dragonfest back in May and wanted more, then you’re in luck! Martial Arts History Museum’s own founder and curator Michael Matsuda is already kicking things off ahead of next year’s events – the second following its 2014 revival since its intial host and creator, actor Gerald Okamura back in May. Plans are now in motion to host Dragonfest 2015 in July as the Museum’s biggest convention, host to a wide array of appearances from actors, authors, martial artists and filmmakers, and a display of cool merchandise for your own enjoyment. In lieu of any and all slow-moving news regarding the pending feature-length reboot production of Kung Fu, its original star, late actor David Carradine (Lone Wolf McQuade, Kill Bill, True Legend) is now the recipient of new posthumous honors next year at the highly acclaimed Martial Arts History Museum. All-Girl Action Flick, BITCHFIGHT Gets A Merciless New Promo!

Actress, martial arts legend and International Sports Hall Of Famer Cynthia Rothrock was in Burbank, California to promote her latest family action drama, The Martial Arts Kid at Dragonfest on Sunday. Meanwhile, action fans were also able to get a glimpse of her very much more badass, bloody and not-so family-oriented all female action flick, Bitchfight, with producer and director Dean Meadows. Although no plot details have been made available, footage arrived on Sunday in the form of a new brutal, gritty, grindhouse-style promo that was shot late last year and can now be viewed in the embed below. Following previous coverage on the revival of Martial Arts History Museum founder and president Michael Matsuda’s upcoming events for Dragonfest 2014, a fresh new press release was unveiled this weekend announcing more details on who will attend. The festival appears to have an amazing slate of programs and guests lined up, including a wide array of seasoned film and martial arts veterans, actors and filmmakers alike, including Dragonfest’s original founder, actor Gerald Okamura. If you are a martial arts enthusiast and were lucky enough to live in or around Santa Clarita or Burbank in the past fifteen years, chances are you got to share some pretty cool experiences, most notably, the annual Dragonfest convention hosted by actor and martial artist Gerald Okamura who since retired the event in 2004.
