Stallone On Johnson For Expendables 4: "Bring It On"
August 15 will be the day that moviegoers will get to officially see the iconic who’s-who of blockbuster fanfare with the release of director Patrick Hughes’s new film, The Expendables 3. Ironically, it will also be the day that the filmmakers and studio involved will see if whether or not the film’s recent illegal leak with affect its box office earnings before ever moving forward with a fourth film. Lionsgate is suing a slate of unnamed defendants for allocating the film through torrent sites two weeks ahead of its release, while the Department Of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement has also opened up a federal investigation on the matter.
It’s a clusterfuck of epic proportions, and needless to say, this all would never be an issue if a bunch of selfish bastards online didn’t steal the film. Personally, I would rather talk about the movies, and that includes the prospects of there being a fourth film in the franchise – a subject of dialogue which has already been picking up steam off and on in the months leading up to now. Actor Pierce Brosnan is already on record showing interest, and the word is that fellow franchise actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson wants to hop in, only he prefers to play the villain instead, according to an answer to a hinted question during a Reddit AMA over a week ago. “I don’t want to be on their team and be buddies with them.” he said. “Fuck that noise. I want to hunt every single one of them down and tell them to ‘send your soul to heaven cause your ass is mine.”
Well, it seems the last 24 hours or so as of this write up have proven positive in this regard. Movie Cricket was on hand to talk to the actor during An Evening With Sylvester Stallone at the Manchester Arena on Friday. Soon after, Movie Cricket’s Billy Fletcher followed up on his report with the news. “Sylvester Stallone confirmed without any doubt to us that he wants Dwayne Johnson to play the villain of Expendables 4.” he says. “This is 100% Rambo confirmed.”
He goes on to say, “Sylvester Stallone confirmed that he saw the comments made by Dwayne Johnson, with the official Expendables Facebook page even uploading a new photograph poster, teasing Dwayne Johnson to ‘Bring It On’. It now seems Sylvester Stallone seriously likes the idea and sees Dwayne Johnson as the perfect villain of Expendables 4.”
A fourth looks probable, and could see some casting changes along the way with at least one actor dialing back on performing action due to health issues. The new film also features a younger generation of action heroes coming into their own on the silver screen, including Ronda Rousey and Kellan Lutz, and with a bankable star like Johnson in the ranks, The Expendables 4 looks like a keeper.
But alas, I digress. Hundreds of thousands (millions, even) of DVD-quality copies of the third film are now leaked onto the internet, and as a result, a lawsuit and federal probe are underway. Neddless to say, as difficult as it is to see a beloved cult favorite film get a sequel (see Dredd 2), if The Expendables 3 flops, don’t be surprised if a fourth film gets shelved indefinitely.
You want a fourth film? Earn it.
Johnson currently stars in Hercules, and will appear with Rousey in Fast And Furious 7 on April 3, 2015.

FAST AND FURIOUS 7 Will Release One Week Early!
Just in time as action stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Tony Jaa are seen taking photos with director James Wan and the cast and crew of Fast And Furious 7 upon wrapping their scenes, April 3, 2015 is the new date Universal Pictures is announcing for the film’s release. The announcement marks the third change in dates since the film, which also features lead actor Vin Diesel, shifted its original July 11, 2014 date to April 10, 2015 last December, following the off-set accidental death of lead actor Paul Walker last November.
Many of the cast members have already wrapped their scenes, including co-stars Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges and Tyrese Gibson just a few weeks ago. There’s no official word yet on how the film will transition into its new trilogy regarding the script changes that were required since the film’s temporary hiatus in January, although recent months have revealed some coverage pertaining to the addition of one of the brothers of the late actor for additional films in the franchise; Both brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, stood in earlier this year with two other body doubles to finish Paul‘s scenes for a proper send-off of the iconic character, “Bryan O’Connor”, with post-production to include a digital rendering of Paul’s face and voice.
Aside from movies, Paul Walker was also best known for his acquatic research, as well as philanthropic and charitable work as co-founder of the non-profit organization Reach Out Worldwide back in 2010, engaging in disaster relief efforts around the world. A portion of the proceeds of his film sales go directly to ROWW in honor of his memory.

The Rock Has No Fear In A New Clip From HERCULES!
Based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars, the ensemble-action film is a revisionist take on the classic myth set in a grounded world where the supernatural does not exist. The screenplay is by Ryan Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos.
HERCULES Lets The World Know His Name In The Commanding New Trailer!
Actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been real busy as of late keeping close to the pulse of his fans through social networking ahead of promoting his next big screen adventure, Hercules. The official trailer premiered at CinemaCon this week, along with a whole new batch of footage of other films heading our way this summer. And today, the official trailer is now online courtesy of Machinima ETC.
Unlike the previously released Renny Harlin-directed 3D film, Hercules takes on a whole new level of understanding for the character which essentially appears to do tons of justice for fans of its lead actor whose early resumé includes The Scorpion King; I’m almost inclined to ask you all which of the two would win in a fight, but I digress! At any rate, the trailer delivers solidly with The Rock’s own stamp of approval, and I’ll leave it to you to decide if I’m correct in that assertion.
Hercules bows July 25!
SYNOPSIS:
Based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars, the ensemble-action film is a revisionist take on the classic myth set in a grounded world where the supernatural does not exist. The screenplay is by Ryan Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos.
Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend…
Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary.
Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.
Adrianne Palicki Announces Her Return In G.I. JOE 3
IGN confirmed this week that actress Adriene Palicki will star once again in the upcoming third installment of Hasbro’s G.I. Joe film franchise from Paramount. The news came admist an interview with the actress on the set of her next action film with Keanu Reeves, John Wick, where she reflects on being one of the most sought-after actresses for action movies, as well as her time filming and potentially starring in NBC’s television rendition of the iconic DC Comics heroine, Wonder Woman, prior to the show’s last-minute cancellation; That role has since gone to actress Gal Gadot for the big screen release of Zack Snyder’s untitled Batman vs. Superman movie.
Palicki will join what is set to be a currently developing list of actors, both new AND returning, which may include actors Marlon Wayans and Adawale Akinnouye-Agbaje, and actress Rachel Nichols who starred in the first film, 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra under then-director Stephen Sommers. It is also being mentioned that actor Channing Tatum, who appeared in both the first and second film, could star in the third film as well, which seems interesting considering what moviegoers saw happen in the second movie. No word yet on whether Fast And Furious 7 and Hercules star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will return, although considering that his role in the second film (with both movies grossing a total of almost $700 million dollars worldwide in the past four years), adding to the good news that came Johnson‘s way this week on Monday evening, I wouldn’t be surprised if Paramount brought him back on board.
Holy Sh*t! http://t.co/Li8cGVZoKM
— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) December 17, 2013
Holy sh*t indeed, Rock. Holy sh*t indeed. 🙂
Given the nearly year-long wait for G.I. Joe: Retaliation between its summer 2012 date and its Spring premiere this year for its 3D conversion, it is likely that the third will be filmed in 3D as well, with Retaliation helmer Jon M. Chu back in the director’s seat. Snow White And The Huntsman and Killing Season scribe, writer Evan Daugherty is providing the screenplay for a tentative 2016 date.
John Wick, directed by David Leitch and Chad Stahelski arrives in theaters next year.
