STUNTMAN Official Trailer Revealed For The Leung Brothers’ New Action Drama
Plans for a select screenings are underway in Hong Kong with the upcoming release of Stuntman, the new riveting filmmaking drama from directing duo Herbert and Albert Leung. Those screenings are set to take place on Friday and Saturday before the film’s wider release on September 26 from Edko Films. The official trailer is now up and running and diving (more or less) well into the dramatic upheaval centered on two generations of stunt professionals. Remember F. Gary Gray’s The Negotiator? Welp, Hong Kong action favorite Herman Yau remade it. Indeed, Crisis Negotiators the his latest from the Raid On The Lethal Zone and upcoming Customs Frontline helmer. He reteams with leading man Sean Lau after The White Storm 3: Heaven Or Hell, who plays a negotiator who desperately seizes a police station after being framed for a crime he didn’t commit. The line-up also lists Francis Ng in the pivotal role of the skilled negotiator called in to do what he does best, barring the intricate twists and turns that may happen along the way. Production is currently underway for The Furious, a new Hong Kong-produced action thriller being shot in Thailand. Variety’s Patrick Frater cites producer Bill Kong’s (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Rise Of The Legend, Jet Li-starrer Fearless) attachment as financier and producer via Edko Films alongside XYZ Films. ANITA Official Teaser Reignites The Spark Ahead Of 2021 Release
Edko Films is backing Cold War co-helmer Longman Leung’s new biopic, Anita, based on the life and times of the late Hong Kong film, television and music sensation Anita Mui, who sadly passed away in 2003. Hong Kong model Louise Wong stars in the title role for the film’s theatrical release later this year, with Sony reportedly acquiring the film for release in several Asian territories according to reports out of Screen.
