THE HIT LIST: January 13, 2020

There are so many things happening in the world as we speak that it’s been difficult not to get sidetracked what with all that I have to do from this point forward. At any rate, the last three weeks have been quite the emotional rollercoaster in my personal life and with enough time, at least tentatively, to reflect and think on what I can do differently. That especially goes for The Hit List, which makes its return to Film Combat Syndicate with the new year underway, and a world of stunt and independent film talent to share. Small Update About THE HIT LIST

Alright, YouTube is being a pain in the neck lately; In terms of details, my targeted searches are only giving me generic search results when I do my searches for Hit List content. As a result, I’ve had to work twice as hard this week to find stuff to post for the weekly Hit List, which I’ve kept up for more than four years since December 2014. Changing search terms did make a difference along with some folks contributing videos for this week’s installment of the Hit List via email, but ultimately I did end up piling on more than I could handle in recent weeks as a result of YouTube not functioning as optimally as I need it to. Managed to get a few things done this weekend including enjoying a few others screeners – one for a film that was supposed to be out this month but will be releasing this Fall instead and I’ll bring some news about that in the weeks ahead. Well, I don’t know about you guys, but my weekend was another laid back one this summer. I haven’t been to the movies in a while and mostly due to work, but I have plenty of anime and film at home to keep me company, and that courtesy also extends to any number of the usual action shorts and stunt talents I find on the web. Trust is now an issue, with the re-emergence of the police commissioner’s daughter, Barbara Gordon following her death. Consequently, Dick Grayson is pretty pissed, as well as prideful – a toxic combination that could mean his undoing in the moments before he confronts Bludhaven’s most menacing mercenary, Deathstroke. The question is, is it too late?… Episode three of Nightwing: The Series is up and running with four weekly more between now and November before the end of this climactic chapter in the DC universe. Adam Zielinski directs with actor co-creator and producer Danny Sheperd, actor Bob Dysinger, actress Lenna Karacostas and actor David Breslow starring. Oh, and Joker makes a brief appearance as well!

Peipei Alena Yuan Fights The System In The Upcoming Fan Film Short, EDGE OF FAITH

Poster Credit: Jonathan Tran Lifelong athlete, aspiring actor, stunt coordinator and independent filmmaker Andrew J. Neis is already going viral for a new shortfilm coming this November titled Edge Of Faith. Inspired by the 2008 first person action adventure video game, Mirror’s Edge, Neis‘s shortfilm is based on an old screenplay he wrote titled “Lover’s Leap: A Parkour Love Story”. But instead, Neis wanted to crank it up a notch and chose to make a dual-purpose shortfilm that would further manifest his love for gaming, indie action and film culture, as well as showcase the eclectic talents, ANP Stunts, a multi-faceted drama, movement and screenfighting film team he founded with his brother, Peter Neis. Filmed in select areas of downtown Los Angeles as his backdrop, Neis and his team sought to replicate the same atmosphere and style in order to create a fan film that pays homage to Mirror’s Edge. Director Oliver Hollingdale Takes You To The Edge In The New Shortfilm Trailer For JUDGE DREDD: CURSED EDGE

Fan appreciation for the classic comic book character, Judge Dredd, has continued to increase since the release of the September 2012 theatrical reboot, Dredd 3D. Soon enough, as expectations of a sequel dissipated, indie filmmaker Oliver Hollingdale has been chronicling his efforts at his independent production company, Sunnymeade Films, to tap into shortfilm territory, working to reviving the magic brought on the big screen by Pete Travis last year. Today, after teasing his followers on Facebook and Twitter for months non-end, Hollingdale finally unveiled a new trailer for his own short film take on the futuristic law enforcer titled Cursed Edge. It stars Damien Gerard, Jade Rambaut, Darren Carver, Kiarnie Camp and Rain McCormack, with a music score by Cyle Hendricks.
