Fumihiko Sori’s FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST To Close Anime NYC 2017!
The time is nearly upon those who plan on attending Anime NYC’s inaugural three-day spectacle kicking off on November 17 at the Javits Center in New York City. Closing out the event is an early premiere of Fumihiko Sori’s new film, Fullmetal Alchemist, which will mark the film’s debut U.S. screening ahead of its general theatrical release in Japan on December 1.
The film takes off from the pages of Arakawa Hiromu’s longstanding manga set in a time where alchemy, one of the world’s most advanced sciences, also bares its share of controversy. Such is the case of two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, ill-fated in an attempt to revive their deceased mother and forced to suffer a terrible sacrifice before setting out on a turbulent quest for a mythological Philosopher Stone to restore alchemical balance to the world.
Ryosuke Yamada (Edward Elric), Tsubasa Honda (Winry Rockbell), Dean Fujioka (Roy Mustang), and Yasuko Matsuyuki (Lust) lead the headlining cast for the film which will also have its Tokyo International Film Fest premiere this Wednesday.
Sori himself will also be on hand for the 3:00pm main stage screening at Anime NYC on November 19 with free autograph signings also available. Tickets are now on sale for an additional $10.00 for fans and those attending with the appropriate Anime NYC badges required, so head over to the official website and read up on all the essentials, and get your dibs before long!

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST Materializes Its Latest Official Poster
Can Sori-san pull it off? I really don’t know and the trailers, as ample as they are in just showing the necessary bits and pieces to stir hype, don’t really speak much to the aforementioned m.o.. It’s a big story with a lot of characters and my guess is some have been written out in the course of its development. At any rate, we’ll find out soon enough, but you’re bound to be in full view of some of the more outstanding principles from the good and evil spectrum.

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: Military Might And Homunculi Evil Emerge In The Newest Trailer
It’s a big deal, too, from a creative standpoint with the promise of aiming to tell the complete story of the manga/anime within one film instead of several installments according to reports at Anime News Network. The film’s setting is a huge one at that, set in a time when alchemy, despite its benefits, is a widely-publicized controversial practice. The core of our story has two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, whom after a botched attempt to revive their deceased mother, forces the siblings into a life-altering sacrifice that sets them on an incredible journey of redemption and healing amid the epic war to restore alchemic balance against the efforts of looming, afterworld demonic forces of evil known as Homunculi.
