Right about now you’ll be spotting clips here and there online for director Baran bo Odar’s new movie, Sleepless. Enter actor Jamie Foxx whose robust career in film and entertainment now lends us a pure, tough role that moviegoers may get a kick out of when the film opens this weekend, marking the second iteration of its 2011 French language predecessor, Blanche Nuit – the first being Kamal Haasan’s Thoongavanam in 2014.
SYNOPSIS:
Undercover Las Vegas police officer Vincent Downs (Jamie Foxx) finds himself caught in a high-stakes web of corrupt cops, internal affairs and murderous gangsters. When a failed heist leads to the kidnapping of his teenage son, Downs must race against time during a wild and restless night to save him and bring the criminals to justice.
Advancing its February release to this Friday in the U.S. from Open Road Films, a red-band trailer is now out and about to help put things in further perspective. Foxx is joined by Gabrielle Union, T.I., Michelle Monaghan, Dermot Mulroney, David Barbour and Scoot McNairy for the cast.

SLEEPLESS NIGHT is the story of Vincent Downs (Jamie Foxx), a seemingly corrupt Las Vegas cop. When gangsters kidnap his son as ransom for a shipment of cocaine he stole, Downs races to save his son’s life without getting caught by Internal Affairs and before the mobsters discover that he’s actually lost the goods. Monaghan plays officer Jennifer Bryant, an Internal Affairs agent investigating Downs who ultimately has to decide which side of the law he’s on.
