The first teaser trailer for JUSTICIA PROPIA has to be one of the most badass trailers I have ever seen for any action movie. Being an action fan myself in today’s era, the prominence of Hong Kong cinema and the evolution of the internet, I love that we now get to expand our range of film production markets and see what other studios are coming up with. Coming across the trailer through another mutual friend on Facebook, it was a great opportunity to help introduce another filmmaker to a bigger audience. My latest big interview comes from none other than three members of the internationa multi-crafted action photography and film team based in China, thr3guys. From L to R: J. Cheung (a.k.a. Cryptik Soul), Temur Mamisashvili and Kamil Janowski I first came across this group a little after I started taking a closer look at some photos being shared on Instagram by martial arts actor and stunt performer Xin Wuku. These photos would eventually be part of a Roger Corman production that thr3 founder and member, J. Cheung would be co-starring in called Fist Of The Dragon, slated for a December release. Over the latter half my weekend, I got the opportunity to talk to 22-year old native Los Angelean, Devin White. On YouTube, viewers and fans know him as KidHaru – vlogger, tricker, gymnast, freerunner and indie filmmaker. You might be wondering what a name like “Kid Haru” means anyway. Well, I got that covered: KH: Kid is part of a long running gaming handle. My usernames were always Kid___. Haru is Japanese for spring. When I first created it, I thought it meant fire. About eight years ago or so, as I spent my time browsing online, zombied out while instant messaging with friends, I would always look up trailers and clips of action movies. I began witnessing an emerging of a new subgenre within martial arts cinema. It was the start of an era comprised of many individuals and sports teams throughout the world, harnessing their athletic talents in martial arts, stunts and filmwork to this very day. People I observed, making their own short action movies and gaining their notoriety through viral videos were doing so, starting in their late teens and early/mid 20’s.
