THE HIT LIST – October 19, 2015

Time to get the ball rolling this week for a brand new Hit List, one with ample music, energy and most importantly, some of the best action ever shot on film. This week is a little light, but a guaranteed crowdpleaser nonetheless… So sit back and relax, and keep the play button handy. Y2K Films Presents: ONE FIGHT / THREE STYLES – TAKE TWO!

Another day, another experiment in action and fight design for Thailand-based stuntmen Kazu Patrick Tang, Charlie Ruedpokanon and Jawed El Berni in their second installment of 1 Fight/3 Styles. The goal here between all three performers is to work on their own styles of editing using the same footage. It’s something I wasn’t keen to figure out earlier on when they released their first one. Nevertheless though, the reaction is pretty positive so far, and I’m hard pressed to believe this will be their last. If you missed their first one, CLICK HERE to check it out. MYSTIC BLADE Gets An Official U.S. Release Date!

And another chapter makes its final stretch to a close for another epic independent action production, this time for the upcoming release of Mystic Blade, which now has an official North American DVD release date set for October 21, courtesy of Indican Pictures. The film is chock-full of action talents familiar with Thailand’s action scene within the past decade, featuring actor, stuntman, martial artist Don Ferguson in his first lead role while serving as writer and executive producer. Premiere Thai stunt professional, actor and martial artist Kazu Patrick Tang is taking a step-by-step approach to becoming a film director as of late. It’s a great trend for someone heavily crafted in cinematic stunts and performamce martial arts in films like Raimund Huber’s Dragonwolf and Rashane Limtrakul’s Raging Phoenix to name a few, which could mean some awesome prospects in action films. It was last year that Tang relased his debut action short, Marksmen, featuring martial arts action performers, actors Brahim Achabbakhe and Ron Smoorenburg (Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear, Tekken 2: Kazuya’s Revenge). The shortfilm became a modest hit online within the niche, and ultimately, Tang’s first foray into a career in filmmaking that will hopefully flourish with the right people and opportunities to come his way.
