GANGS OF LONDON Signals Season Four Production With New Cast And Details
The trades came out with news of the production of Gangs Of London which will be in its fourth season. I’m in the dark as we speak since I haven’t been able to stream season three, but all I can say is that this has been one of the best and most thrilling shows of the 2020s so far.
Below is the announcement from Sky with all the T’s crossed and I’s dotted, including a cast of characters both returning and new to the mix, as well as the creative hands behind the scenes of it all. Have a read and stay tuned!
Sky today confirms that filming is underway on the fourth series of the hit Sky and AMC+ Original drama Gangs of London, produced by VICE Studios, with Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, Michelle Fairley, Narges Rashidi and Andrew Koji among the returning cast.
Jack Lothian (Strike Back, Who Is Erin Carter?) joins as lead writer and executive producer alongside Jean Luc Herbulot (Zero, Saloum) as lead director. Herbulot’s film Saloum premiered in the Midnight Madness strand at TIFF, the same programme that has featured The Raid from Gangs of London co-creator Gareth Evans and Project Wolf Hunting from previous series director Kim Hong-sun, placing him firmly within the high-octane, action-driven lineage of the series.
The returning cast includes Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (My Father’s Shadow), Michelle Fairley (Queen Charlotte), Andrew Koji, who will next star in Street Fighter, Narges Rashidi, a recent RTS winner and BAFTA nominee for Prisoner 951, Brian Vernel (Slow Horses), Orli Shuka (Black Bag), T’Nia Miller (Years & Years), Valene Kane (Blue Lights) and Pippa Bennett-Warner (See How They Run).
Joining the cast for series four, where shifting alliances and new threats reshape London’s criminal underworld, are Tamara Lawrance (Small Axe) as Jo Malik, Luna Fujimoto (Sniper: G.R.I.T.-Global Response & Intelligence Team) as Hanaka, Eugene Nomura (Tokyo Vice) as Takeshi Kimura, and Melika Foroutan (The Empress) as Zerin.
Synopsis
As the looming threat of legalisation and government crackdowns tightens its grip on London’s criminal underworld, the gangs are forced into an increasingly volatile fight for survival. Exiled from London, Elliot Carter is on a bloodied path to redemption that draws him back to the capital, where shifting alliances and rising tensions threaten to upend the balance of power. When Zeek Kimura reemerges, backed by a ruthless syndicate from abroad, the stakes escalate and the future of everyone involved, from the Wallaces to Luan, Lale and Elliot himself, is thrown into question.
