This October, worlds collide!…
Before Drew Goddard can have his day on the long-awaited and much-hyped X-Force adaptation, 20th Century Fox first brings us to his latest testament in seething crime storytelling and intrigue with a touch of soul. Enter Bad Times At The El Royale, now online with an official trailer brings all sorts of mystery to its cool with Jeff Bridges leading the all-star cast. Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption… before everything goes to hell. Cue the abs and swivel hips of the ever-rugged Chris Hemsworth to further bookend the eye candy with actor Jon Hamm, and actress Dakota Johnson and Widows headliner Cynthia Erivo for the film’s October 5 release with Cailee Spaeny, Lewis Pullman and Nick Offerman also starring. Today is the day Comic-Con kicks off in San Diego and Twentieth Century Fox is kicking things off bright and early with a brand new trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle. You won’t be limited here, though, as there are two versions – one of which you can view just beneath in glorious red-band form. “Kingsman: The Secret Service” introduced the world to Kingsman – an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, […]
The Palme d’Or is the highest level of accliam ever awarded at the Cannes Film Festival, and apparently it’s been considered worthy nominating for director Denis Villeneuve’s forthcoming Emily Blunt starrer, Sicario. This, no less, is a considerable achievement contributed thanks in part to good writing, and namely worth noting for Taylor Sheridan in lieu of his latest attachment to a new project witd director David MacKenzie whose own laurels span far greater with praise following his award-winning 2013 drama, Starred Up. That project would be the new action heist thriller, Comancheria, with actors Chris Pine, Ben Foster and Jeff Bridges set to star with filming beginning on May 26 in New Mexico. CBS Films announced its acquisition of North American rights for the new film in a press release this week ahead of Cannes which launches a week before then. Needless to say, these folks have a sure thing […]
Well, it was only a matter of time I suppose, but Tron: Legacy and Oblivion helmer Joseph Kosinski is reportedly being tapped to sit in the director’s chair for a third installation of the Tron trilogy. The news comes just after Tuesday’s report stating a third film was set to begin shooting this October in Vancouver. Garrett Hedlund is likely to return to the grid once more following his role in the 2010 sequel, Tron: Legacy, which saw lead protagonist Sam Flynn get sucked into the upgraded virtual world his father, Kevin, once saved so many years earlier from ENCOM’s oppressive Master Control program. Actor Jeff Bridges starred in both films with the first directed by Steven Lisberger in 1982 before returning to produce the sequel with Kosinski directing. Stay tuned for more details! H/T: The Wrap
It’s not easy getting sequels made for films, particularly for those that bomb. This is no less true for director Joseph Kosinski’s 2010 sci-fi epic, Tron: Legacy from Buena Vista which scored only something to the tune of $172 million in equal to its $170 budget, but gained enough overseas to be considered a success. So what’s the fuss about? Welp, it appears Tron: Legacy is getting a sequel, according to sources at VanCity Buzz cited over at Badass Digest. October 5, 2015 is the date reported for Walt Disney Pictures to begin filming Tron 3 in Vancouver, British Colombia while neither a date nor an expansive cast and crew list have been announced with exception to the mention of actor Garrett Hedlund who starred in the 2010 film. For those not in the know, the first film, Tron, released in 1982 from writer and director Steve Lisberger with actor […]
On its face, watching actor Jeff Bridges wax medieval with a British accent doesn’t sit well with me, even in the latest trailer for the long-awaited release of Nomad (2005) and Mongol (2007) helmer Sergei Bodrov‘s forthcoming fantasy actioner, Seventh Son. However, considering the epic series of set backs that followed with Academy Award-winning VFX house Rhythm And Hues Studios filed for bankruptcy during post production and Legendary Pictures landing the film at Universal Pictures for distribution after parting ways with Warner Bros., I’d say the actor’s methods are the least of my worries, lest I judge the film too soon. At any rate, the film is finally getting a theatrical release on February 6, 2015, and now has a brand spanking new poster and trailer just below: SYNOPSIS: In a time long past, an evil is about to be unleashed that will reignite the war between the forces of […]
