LEGEND OF THE CONDOR HEROES: THE GREAT HERO Teaser Revealed For Tsui Hark’s Newest Jin Yong Adaptation

This was a long time coming, but the first teaser is out to announce the pending release of Legend Of The Condor Heroes: The Great Hero. The film marks filmmaker Tsui Hark’s first return to the literary world of late author Jin Yong since 1992’s Jet Li starrer, Swordsman II which he co-wrote for director Tony Ching. Leading the cast for Legend Of The Condor Heroes: The Great Hero are actor Xiao Zhan, actress Sabrina Zhuang, and Ip Man 4 co-star Vanda Margraf. THE DEER AND THE CAULDRON: Pang Ho-Chung To Adapt Classic Jin Yong Novel Series

Love trilogy director Pang Ho-Cheung is boarding an adaptation of the late Jin Yong’s novel series, The Deer And The Cauldron. Bravos Pictures is repping internationally at EFM in Berlin, signaling as Pang’s first period production set in the Qing Dynasty. Pang’s Making Film Productions will produce and roll cameras for the first installment this summer with a story whose lead character profile reads as Wei Xiaobao, “a charming and mischievous hero rather than a wu xia martial arts champion”. It’s likely that we’ll learn in maybe a year or so what will become of Tsui Hark’s recently reported move on upcoming wuxia adaptation, Return Of The Condor Heroes. Assuredly it will further appeal to fans per the popularity phenomenon of wuxia movies in Western markets and ‘Condors’ author, Louis Cha (a.k.a. Jin Yong) isn’t stopping there. In fact, booklovers out in European and North American territory can look forward to an English translation of Yong’s first book, The Legend Of The Condor Heroes, in 2018 according to China Mosaic. Lin Gengxin in SWORD MASTER Word has it that actor Lin Gengxin is a possible front runner to lead famed Hong Kong director Tsui Hark’s newly confirmed adaptation of classic literary, Return Of The Condor Heroes. The story is inspired by Jin Yong’s 1959 publication, the second installation of the Condor Trilogy which began in 1957 and has seen numerous film and TV adaptations, as well as its expansion into books and video games. Hark reportedly aims to adapt the book into a trilogy of its own while fans are expecting to hear of Lin’s attachment as Yang Guo, whose taboo romance with his sifu, martial arts master Little Dragon Girl, and their adventures in the martial arts world is central to the story.
