SAVAGE ATTACK: Alexander Nevsky Action Thriller Rolls Cameras In Q1 2022

Alexander Nevsky (Moscow Heat, Black Rose) is advancing on Savage Attack, the long-awaited action project that first hit the radar back in June 2017. Nevsky will star and produce the pic, reuniting with Joe Cornet who will direct from a script by Craig Hamann. Savage Attack is billed as “The Raid meets Die Hard”, in a story centered on a CIA operative who must save his former mentor from an insane asylum under siege by hired killers. Nevsky is producing via his Hollywood Storm banner in association with ETA films, with Eric Brenner co-producing. Art Camacho, who previously collaborated with Nevsky on 2019 sports drama, Wild League, and on Cornet’s recently completed period western, Assault On Rio Bravo, will serve as stunt and fight coordinator. I don’t know about you, but I have some experience with caregiving. It can be exhausting and draining though rewarding and meaningful. But I never stopped to think that being a caregiver could also be scary, at least not in the horror movie sense. Actor, filmmaker and producer Alexander Nevsky had other ideas, though. Nevsky will be producing his very first horror film called Night of the Caregiver. According to the press release, the film is written by Craig Hamann and is about: Hospice nurse Juliet is hired to be caregiver for Lillian, who lives in an isolated house in a remote area. The first pending installment to filmmaker Joe Cornet’s independent Western saga is in-bound with the latest keyart now making the rounds for Alexander Nevsky headliner, Assault On Rio Bravo. The film is just the latest return to the genre for actor/director Cornet whose most recent film, Western Promise, scored 16 nominations at The Wild Bunch Film Festival, including Best Picture and Best Director. Based on a true story and with a sequel also en route, Assault On Rio Bravo sees Nevsky as a foreign gunslinger in 1875 who is pit against a bloodthirsty gang of outlaws in Texas. ETA Films, Hollywood Storm and San Rafael Productions have officially greenlit a sequel to Joe Cornet’s upcoming Western, Assault On Rio Bravo, now aiming for a November start. The announcement over the weekend cites the film’s positive reception by distributors at this year’s Cannes Film Market. Joe Cornet (Promise, Prayer for the Damned) will direct and executive produce with a script by Craig Hamman (Showdown in Manila), and will see the return of lead actor Alexander Nevsky (Black Rose) to both star, as well as produce. Other recurring cast members will be Cornet, along with Matthias Hues (Dark Angel), Natalie Denise Sperl (Mank), and actress/supermodel Anna Oris among others. Joe Cornet’s new film, Assault On Rio Bravo, is casting up this week following announcements in January. The film, billed as an action-packed western with strong horror elements, is the latest project currently gaining traction for actor and producer Alexander Nevsky, who marks a reunion with several cohorts from his 2016 action ensemble, Showdown In Manila. Alexander Nevsky (Black Rose) will star in Assault On Rio Bravo, a new Western thriller from Joe Cornet (A Prayer for the Damned). Cornet will direct from a script by Craig Hamann (Boogie Boy, Showdown In Manila). Casting is currently underway in Los Angeles while production works to mitigate the city’s current situation during the pandemic.
