Adrianne Palicki Announces Her Return In G.I. JOE 3
IGN confirmed this week that actress Adriene Palicki will star once again in the upcoming third installment of Hasbro’s G.I. Joe film franchise from Paramount. The news came admist an interview with the actress on the set of her next action film with Keanu Reeves, John Wick, where she reflects on being one of the most sought-after actresses for action movies, as well as her time filming and potentially starring in NBC’s television rendition of the iconic DC Comics heroine, Wonder Woman, prior to the show’s last-minute cancellation; That role has since gone to actress Gal Gadot for the big screen release of Zack Snyder’s untitled Batman vs. Superman movie.
Palicki will join what is set to be a currently developing list of actors, both new AND returning, which may include actors Marlon Wayans and Adawale Akinnouye-Agbaje, and actress Rachel Nichols who starred in the first film, 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra under then-director Stephen Sommers. It is also being mentioned that actor Channing Tatum, who appeared in both the first and second film, could star in the third film as well, which seems interesting considering what moviegoers saw happen in the second movie. No word yet on whether Fast And Furious 7 and Hercules star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will return, although considering that his role in the second film (with both movies grossing a total of almost $700 million dollars worldwide in the past four years), adding to the good news that came Johnson‘s way this week on Monday evening, I wouldn’t be surprised if Paramount brought him back on board.

Holy sh*t indeed, Rock. Holy sh*t indeed. 🙂
Given the nearly year-long wait for G.I. Joe: Retaliation between its summer 2012 date and its Spring premiere this year for its 3D conversion, it is likely that the third will be filmed in 3D as well, with Retaliation helmer Jon M. Chu back in the director’s seat. Snow White And The Huntsman and Killing Season scribe, writer Evan Daugherty is providing the screenplay for a tentative 2016 date.
John Wick, directed by David Leitch and Chad Stahelski arrives in theaters next year.

'Snow White' Writer Evan Daugherty Penning G.I. Joe 3
With Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick moving on from G.I. Joe: Retaliation to the waiting-in-limbo comic book adaptation of characters Deadpool and Venom, production for G.I. Joe 3 will bring screenwriter Evan Daugherty on board. The report from THR comes in roughly three months after director Jon M. Chu announced the film back in July with Retaliation co-stars Bruce Willis and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson confirmed to return, while a writer was still being “narrowed down”.

Review: G.I. JOE: RETALIATION
Retaliation summarizes a little bit of the first movie before entering the new bilateral storyline that reunites actor Channing Tatum as Duke, with the character Snake Eyes, played by Ray Park, along with Byung Hun-Lee, Arnold Vosloo and Jonathan Pryce reprising their roles as Storm Shadow, Zartan and The President. The film introduces the new heroes, Roadblock, Lady Jaye, Flint, Jinx and General Joe Colton, played respectively by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Adrienne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, Elodie Yung and Bruce Willis with new villain, ex-Joe Firefly, played by Ray Stevenson, and Luke Bracey providing the costume performance for Cobra Commander, voiced by Robert Baker, entirely replacing Joseph Gordon-Levitt from the first film.
