K.O. CLUB: ‘Squid Game’ Creator Sets Up New Feature Project
Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk is undoubtedly paying huge mind to the success of his hit series on Netflix since last Fall, as the latest report from Variety confirms he’s penning the second season for a 2024 launch following January’s announcement. None of this is to say he isn’t branching out to other ideas, of course, and so it goes with trade news confirming the development of feature thriller, K.O. Club (or Killing Old People Club). Exact plot details are unknown as of late, but according to the report, it was at the MipTV marketing floor that Hwang revealed a 25-page treatment so far, inspired by the work of Italian author Umberto Eco. “It will be more violent than ‘Squid Game,’” teased Dong-hyuk, adding that he might have to hide from old people after the film comes out.
