VoD REVIEW: TIME RUSH (2016)

I’m not at all familiar with director Daniel Zirilli’s repetoire, but I’m always keen on a filmmaker’s endeavors when it comes to tapping into martial arts stunt talent. So goes his latest venture with stuntman, filmmaker and producer, actor Dean Alexandrou who caught my attention as early as 2013 with his impressive 2010 award-winning shortfilm, Dohard. It’s little moments like this that keep me on the edge of my seat and wanting more, and just a few years later, we now have his latest pairing with Zirilli for the new thriller, Time Rush, showcasing an otherwise worthy experiment in independent film with some terrific moments…as well as some not-so-terrific ones. ROCKY HANDSOME Is The Man From Nowhere In The First Teaser

Hey guess what? Remember Lee Jeong-Beom’s 2010 South Korean revenge noir, The Man From Nowhere? Well, surprised or not, this one just got a Hindi remake courtesy of Azure Entertainment with actor and producer John Abraham starring titled Rocky Handsome, and it’s hitting screens on March 25. Abraham leads along with young actress Diya Chalwad in their respective roles based on Commando (2013) and D-Day (2014) writer Ritesh Shah’s script, and make no mistake: Lee’s iteration carries its own tone with actor Won Bin and actress Kim Sae-Ron taking you on an emotional rollercoaster centered on one-man’s surge into the criminal underworld to rescue a young girl caught in a whirlwind drag of her mother’s lifestyle. Director Daniel Zirilli‘s latest film comes by way of rising action star, traceur, actor, writer, producer and stuntman Dean Alexandrou in his latest new film, Reflex. The new film marks the latest collaboration between Zirilli‘s Popart Film Factory and Alexandrou‘s independent action platform, Stunt Power Films where Alexandrou has been busy showcasing an impressive array of action shorts for several years, including the 2010 film festival favorite, Dohard, featuring The Scorpion King 3 co-star, actress and martial artist Selina Lo.
