TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Unshells Four New Character Posters And Trailer
Aside from anything revelant to the etymology of the character from the original comics by creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, director Jonathan Liebesman‘s forthcoming iteration of the classic villain in his new film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will center on actor William Fichtner‘s portrayal of Eric Sachs, a doctor who apparently worked with reporter April O’Neil’s father to, as he puts it, “create heroes”. Evidently at some point, every hero needs a villain, and somehow Sachs becomes the monstrous incarnation we now see in the new photo above, and in addition to a brand new trailer and character posters as of this week.
SYNOPSIS:
The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles releases nationwide on August 8 and stars actress Megan Fox as April O’Neil and actor Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, with principle respective performances of characters Splinter, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael by actors Danny Woodburn accompanied by the voice of Tony Shahloub, Pete Plozek with the voice of Johnny Knoxville, and actors Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard and Alan Ritchson.

I wonder what the overall sentiment was when people began finding out that director Michael Bay was returning to the fray with a brand new Transformers trilogy. Although, I’m pretty certain that whatever optimism that came about was met with the usual curmudgeons who will never stop looking for things to complain about, but judging by the tone we’re getting from the latest trailers we’re seeing for the newest trilogy installment with Transformers: Age Of Extinction, things are looking quite nice.
The characters are less goofy, more mature, and we’re seeing more depth from our principle CGI lead robot character, Optimus Prime (voiced once again by Peter Cullen), hinting at a story that definitely ante’s up the danger level in what appears to be an exciting and explosive newer, fresher start.
Plus, epic robot battles. Just sayin.
So I think it’s fair to say that however which way you feel about Bay as a director, you’ll probably see this one too. I know I might. At any rate, the film premieres in Hong Kong with a special live performance by the film’s soundtrack band, Imagine Dragons, one week before the film opens in the U.S. on June 27., followed by further multi-territorial releases on July 10 in the U.K. and abroad.
Imagine Dragons To Host The Hong Kong Premiere Of TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION
By now, you’re probably caught up in your fair share of stills going viral ahead of director Michael Bay‘s latest film, Transformers: Age Of Extinction. Photos now streaming along the internet are granting fans a few glimpses at the fresher designs for Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, and other robots set to appear in the forthcoming second trilogy of the blockbuster franchise with Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz as the father and daughter who make a discovery that ultimately ensues in a showdown with a paranoid government, and of course, more epic robot battles to boot.
Get A Mean, Green Close-Up In The New Trailer For TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
While some people may still be recovering from the fallout over the first trailer footage several weeks ago for director Jonathan Liebesman‘s upcoming release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there are others who stand somewhat hopeful that the new 2014 remake will deliver, an opinion shared most recently by co-creator Kevin Eastman who was quoted last week in a piece over at CBR about the new Michael Bay-produced movie.
“It’s been a four, almost five-year journey to bring the next “Turtles” movie to life since the time we pitched it,” he says. “I know everybody is like, “Oh, Michael Bay, Michael Bay, Michael Bay, he’s gonna ruin it! He’s gonna destroy it!” But everyone I have encountered has been nothing more than incredibly sincere to try and bring the Turtles back in a way that’s new, fresh and exciting, but with total respect to everything that’s come before. I’ve read the script. I have a cameo in the move. It’s awesome — really fun.”
He also added, “What they’ve done with the film is going to make fans incredibly happy, including myself. The vision is awesome, the effects are incredible and the story will be something everybody can relate to and like. I’ll leave it out there for the fans to let us know what they like in the end, but I’m very proud to be part of it. A lot of people are going to be surprised.”
At least one criticism that came about had much ado with the application of noses, among other things. So yes, the scruitiny will continue and fans will maintain their skepticism in light of the new film which now has a new version of the first trailer making the rounds online.
It feels a little underwheming feeling like you’re watching the same thing over again. However, if Eastman says it’s worth it, then it is what it is. Right?

THE PURGE: ANARCHY Takes The Fight Outside In The Official Trailer
Writer and director James DeMonaco‘s is cranking it up this summer for the forthcoming release of The Purge: Anarchy. Following up the success of the first film which released last year, the sequel now takes the battle to the streets of a not-too-distant future America where in order to sustain record crime lows and economic highs for the rest of the year, the government decriminalizes all crimes, allowing the nation one night of virtually complete lawlessness.
All hell breaks loose, body counts ensue, and its every man, woman and child for himself. And its the perfect setup for a film franchise that has something pretty good going for itself, in my opinion. I enjoyed the first movie for its gritty delivery as an action-horror piece, and I believe this one is well on its way to a impressive second act.
As noteworthy mention, both films bare the name of blockbuster filmmaker Michael Bay, who produced both movies, as well as the forthcoming release of the Jonathan Liebesman-directed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – the latter of which fans far and wide are still sorting their opinions on since Thursday’s first teaser, which I completely understand. In the meantime, with The Purge: Anarchy set to take affect this summer, hopefully you saw the first and enjoyed it as much as I did. If not, you may want to do so in order to catch up.
SYNOPSIS:

Watch The New Trailer For TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
Recent years have illustrated a pretty big, criticism-dominant mixture of reactions by fans toward producer Michael Bay’s latest backing for director Jonathan Liebesman‘s new take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And indeed, a lot has happened since the classic characters were initially brought to life in 1990 with a film that remains, for devout fans, the best of the entire original film trilogy.
Nearly two decades later, and despite having to overcome a series of push-backs, script issues and fan rage regarding a leak of an original former draft that once saw the turtles as “aliens”, advancements in filmmaking technology through performance capture now grant filmgoers, our heroes are brought to life through a CGI-heavy reimagining that grants fans of the popular franchise a more inclusive, fresher and spectacular look for our heroes. In addition, recent reports also reveal what has been described as a slight revision of the turtles’ origins designed specifically to culminate with supporting character April O’Neil played by Megan Fox, and the villainous Eric Sachs/Shredder, uniquely introduced by actor William Fichtner.
Well, on Thursday, after all the talk of the film, an image of the characters above (courtesy of Comic Book Therapy), and other photos of the toys and screenshots scattered all over the internet, we finally get to see what all of this entails in a brand new teaser trailer for the film. And of course it’s only a teaser so there is not much to go by here except for several other opinions of those fortunate to attend CinemaCon this month in Las Vegas where substantial footage has been screened.
Other than that, the film arrives August 8, 2014, so the next five months should be interesting.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles joins Fox and Fichtner with actors Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher who play the heroes. Rounding out the cast are Danny Woodburn who plays Splinter, along with actor Will Arnett and actress Whoopi Goldberg.
