It’s pretty safe to say that anyone who is remotely familiar with director Sono Sion are eager to check out the chaos that awaits Japan screens for his new live-action contribution to manga author Santa Inoue for Tokyo Tribe. It is easily one of the most highly anticipated films of this summer by its niche and if anything, the reactions to the film’s initial teaser are proof of that. Sound The Drums For Battle In A New Behind-The-Scenes Video For KIKAIDER REBOOT

One of the biggest and most important qualities shared by any action movie is how important the score is, as is the case for the post-production of Kikaider Reboot. And this week, fans are getting a kickass earful of Kiyoshi Yoshikawa‘s amazing score, along with musical director Donald Barrett and his drummers over at Hollywood’s own Captiol Studios. Of course the trick is to watch the video long enough so you won’t miss any footage from the film accompanied by some truly badass percussion work. I used to play drums when I was younger, so this was a gem to come across and share with you folks, and I look forward to seeing how this film performs with its score upon release. A trailer is yet to be shown publicly for the upcoming serial release of actor and director Joey Ansah‘s latest experiment in live-action fighting game feature-length series, Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist as the business of getting things together for a proper distribution platform rolls on ahead of a much-needed air date. However, on Friday, the official Facebook decided to give fans a glimpse into the score to be used in the series by Patrick Gill and Bolo Music UK, sampling two tracks – Three Days Three Nights, and an electric guitar-infused variation on Ken’s Theme that differs from the one introduced in Ansah’s 2010 breakout concept pitch, Street Fighter Legacy. Dallas Liu Unleashes In The New "Five Knives" Music Video, THE FUTURE

Wednesday was a great day to be young actor Dallas Liu upon the unveiling of the latest music video for electronic punk rock band Five Knives titled, The Future, from Red Bull Records. Directed by Lance Drake with action choreography by Mindy Kelly, the cinematic musical action short features Liu doing what he does best on screen. For those of you who don’t know, Liu himself happens to be an accomplished award-winning martial artist and a force to be reckoned with, merited by the competitive stats and viral online footage to prove it. TEAM NRG Kicks Into Action With A New Showreel

You may recall back in May that I shared an action packed revenge thriller short film from independent filmmaker Trey “Showtime” Drysdale titled The Enigma, with actor Craig Canning. Well, if the names sound familiar, then you’re likely aware of the live-action stage stylings as the dynamic martial arts performance duo, Team NRG. Based out in the U.K., Team NRG presents an eclectic hybrid array of extreme martial arts, weapons, dance, tricking and fight choreography, which they edit themselves. Their performances are documented in such previous events as the Bodypower Expo, the Open Yorkshire Classics Bodybuilding Show, the Arnold Carnival at Nottingham, and most recently at the 2013 Unity International Games at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Ryukyu Battle Royale Gets International Treatmemt With The New Title, DANCING KARATE KID

The title, Dancing Karate Kid (a.k.a. Ryuku Battle Royale) doesn’t exactly ring a bell as a sequel to director Shunichi Nagasaki’s 2007 brutal karate action drama, Kuro-Obi, particularly when you look at the trailer, which looks more “Stephen Chowy” than anything else (something that Chow himself probably doesn’t mind). However, in some circles believe it or not, that is exactly how it is being pitched. Quite peculiar, especially if you’ve seen Kuro-Obi.
