Universal Pictures It was to be expected since its confirmation in late 2015, and now it looks as if things will officially take shape for the spin-off corner of Universal Pictures’s Fast And Furious saga. On Friday, new report from Deadline presented news on good terms that the studio is keen on efforts to manifest a spin-off that will join action movie stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in their own movie with a script by franchise scribe Chris Morgan. The news comes following the latest release of the eighth installment of the high speed action movie franchise, The Fate Of The Furious, and while I won’t divulge the specific twists and details that outline the prospects of this union, the film did greatly in invoking a buddy element that would bode well for both actors in their current positive chemistry. Ironically it also comes in the wake of other […]

Actor, and someone I think we can safely name as action star, Gerard Butler, has been fun to talk about in recent weeks. He has a spate of new action thrillers coming down the pipeline and on Friday he has added another to the list with the new film, A Darker Shade of Magic. He’ll be pairing up with producer Neal Moritz for an adaptation of author Victoria Schwab’s 2015 Tor Books YA publication for Sony who are in negotiations for the rights after beating three other studios in a bidding war in recent weeks. via Tor: Kell is one of the last Travelers—magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel universes. There’s Grey London, dirty and boring, without any magic, ruled by a mad King George. There’s Red London, where life and magic are revered, and the Maresh Dynasty presides over a flourishing empire. White London, a […]
Megahit producer Neal Moritz is already attached to a slew of titles, including a Highlander reboot and the April 2017 installation of Fast And Furious 8. In the meantime, he continues to have his work cut out for him, including a new adaptation of the popular 2007 first-person shooter, Crossfire. The game hails from South Korea’s own Smilegate Group with a reported 60 million concurrent users and up to 400 million registered players in 80 countries, and a place in Forbes as Top Earning Free-To-Play Game in 2013. Variety reports Smilegate chose to place their faith in Moritz’s Original Film banner after deliberating with a number of offers, in an effort to help embolden the game into an action packed feature film with all the trimmings, and franchise potential to boot. CROSSFIRE is an authentic military-themed FPS where two rival factions, Global Risk and Black List, with opposing world view […]
Independent comic book platform Valiant Comics struck big with a nine-figure deal a month and a half ago when it partnered with Chinese investment firm, DMG Entertainment to help pitch its numerous comic book properties with a lean toward film production. What’s as important as this, though, is how the source material gets tackled, which means who will be the team behind the forthcoming productions of such titles as Bloodshot and Harbinger. Well, for starters, at least two people so far, Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, who have made their way in the ranks as stunt professionals and second unit directors through their directorial debut, John Wick, late last year are now up to helm the former with producers Fast And Furious franchise Neal Moritz and Toby Jaffe producing, while the latter seeks a director. These morsel are included in a flurry of other exciting new details announcing Valiant’s official […]
