Anyone in the mood for some Asian cinema? Then Lincoln Center is your place to be this summer, host to the usual wide array of films ranging from classic to contemporary projects. A few of them are currently upcoming in certain parts of the globe in one form or another. Hopefully you can attend this event yourself this month and see what all the fuss is about.
Phantom: The Submarine helmer Park Sang-jun is back this year with a brand new noir action crime thriller that was just introduced to the public last month during the Hong Kong FilMart. That film is the new Busan noir crime thriller, For The Emperor, featuring Monster star Lee Min-ki in a story of a former pro-baseball player and game saboteur who gets caught and loses everything before finding salvation under the wing of a local crime boss, and becomes romantically involved with a sexy bar owner.
The film also stars New World actor Park Sung-woong and Days Of Wrath co-star, actress Lee Tae-Im, who can now be seen in the latest of two new videos out this week, including a 30-second teaser that’s bound to attain your curiousity if you’re into action films. For The Emperor is set to release this June with a date still pending.

The South Korean actioner was nominated twice at the Baeksang Arts Awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. The film stars Lee Jung-jae, Choi Min-shik and Hwang Jung-min and produced by Min-jung Park, Hyun-woo Kim, Jae-Duk Han and Woo-Taek Kim. The film was written and directed by Park Hoon-Jung and was originally theatrically released in South Korea on February 21 by New Entertainment World.
MOVIECLIPS recently shared a Red Band clip of the film, to give viewers a taste of the action other than what has been previously seen in trailers. The clip is pure taste of classic Korean cinema with gang warfare, with suited henchmen locked in fisticuffs, vehicular manslaughter and katanas.
