It’s really hard to believe that the best live action adaptation of the manga “City Hunter” by Tsukasa Hojo, didn´t come out from the country of the rising sun, but it came out from the land that gave us the nouvelle vague. However, the history of cinema is made by filmmakers not afraid to attempt risky projects and young French filmaker Philip Lacheau (Babysitting, Alibi) was the man crazy enough to make his dream come true of becoming Ryo Saeba (known in France as Nicky Larson) the best sweeper in town, who only has one weakness, pretty girls. We’re counting down for a list of 100 titles to expect or hear more about in 2019! In case you haven’t been keeping up, we’re totaling 30 as of Monday. Here are the next five: Outbreak Z: An action choreographer and stuntman fresh from his run with Netflix’s third and final season of Daredevil, Chris Brewster is setting forth on his feature directing action horror debut which commences filming later this year or early next year. The story sees Callie and Ethan lead their team through an overrun college in search of a man who has possession of a possible vaccine to the ‘Zombie’ virus. Hopefully this will be, at the very least, a late 2019 arrival as we await further updates. Anime fans can be sure to expect more City Hunter with a feature film now in post-production for 2019. Until then, Hojo Tsukasa’s 1985 is now reborn with a cadre of French talent on hand for star and director Philippe Lacheau’s Nicky Larson via Sony Pictures France. Larson takes on the role currenly lived on in live action by Jackie Chan with his own take on the dauntless and notoriously perverted P.I. with a severe weakness for women. This time, he’s on a mission to retrieve a powerful fragrance called “Cupid’s Perfume” which makes its user irresistible when used.
