Writer and director Pablo Fendrik‘s newest and third feature, Ardor, stems from multiple areas of inspiration as a Western revenge thriller with a nod to environmental awareness. Such is thematically befitting for the social change business model beset by Participant Media in its first feature-length investment with its Participant PanAmerica production arm, and starring Amores Perros co-star, lead actor Gael Garcia Bernal who also produces. And, having screened several times last year, namely at Cannes for ‘Critic’s Week’ and for the 4th annual Panama Festival, Ardor seems to be just the kind of film that will hit all the right notes for its intended audience.
Gael García Bernal portrays a mysterious man who emerges from the Argentinean rainforest to rescue the kidnapped daughter (Alice Braga) of a poor farmer after mercenaries murder her father and take over his property.
Ardor is expected to arrive in limited theaters and on-demand starring July 17. Check out the trailer below!
