• Elevate Artist Management’s Paris-based talent agent Florent Lamy is announced a new studio effort to kickoff an ambitious Marvel-style operation to adapt long forgotten French comic book superheroes, including ’L’Archer Blanc’ (The White Archer), and Jean-Yves Mitton’s Mirkos saga and spin-offs therein, to name a few. The adaptations will be for televsion and film in French and English. (Screendaily) • Daniel Zirilli’s new Shogun Films revenge thriller, Renegades, has landed multiple territories through sales agent Bleiberg/Dimbort with Saban picking up for North America. Paul Greengrass To Tackle Post-Untouchables True Crime Tale, NESS, For Paramount

Brian De Palma’s 1987 crime thriller, The Untouchables, is a longtime favorite for almost any cinephile who loves a good Prohibition era flick. There was even a television show that transpired in the U.S. back in the 1990s that I liked, both inspired by the 1957 book of the same name, and interestingly, other artists and authors have taken its foremost character and even advanced his story even further. Thus, it now appears that Paramount Pictures is back and reviving the character once more according to a new report at Deadline with word of the new film, Ness. In case you’ve forgotten, Jason Bourne still has plenty of fights left to finish for his latest go-around starting next Friday. Paul Greengrass directs in what Universal Pictures, and probably a good number of fans as of the last fifteen years, hopes will inspire more more films with the actor based on the work of author Robert Ludlum. For this, and once again, we get lead actor Matt Damon back as the hard-hitting, fast moving super agent on yet another definitive mission that will surely involve its fair share of high-speed chases, explosions and frentic hand-to-hand fights that continue to make Bourne-style action what it is today. Last week’s events at CinemaCon boasted quite a feat with the upcoming release of Jason Bourne from Universal Pictures. The film’s Big Game TV spot earlier this year certainly garnered some excitement as well, and now with a release set for July, a first trailer is finally in tow. Universal Pictures made the announcement on Tuesday in the following promos just beneath. Paul Greengrass directs, while franchise star Matt Damon returns with Julia Stiles and newly added cast members – actress Alicia Vikander, and actors Tommy Lee Jones and Vincent Cassell.

It’s definitely a different kind of imagery than what’s normally been shown in a Bourne movie starring Matt Damon, but there he is with both hands wrapped and getting scrappy on the set of what looks like an outdoor fight club of sorts. Clearly he’s been working out and so there’s plenty of eye candy here for those interested, and as for the hand wraps and overall imagery, who knows where that could lead? The Bourne saga continues to grow this week in Europe with principal photography having already begun for the latest installation from director Paul Greengrass. Matt Damon is taking the lead once more in a role that has further cemented him as an action star in his own right since first starring in the 2002 film, The Bourne Identity, which kicked off a highly successful trilogy up to 2007 prior to branching out with actor Jeremy Renner’s 2012 spin-off, The Bourne Legacy. Nil a word has yet been given in the months since Renner’s return to his role was stated, but Damon‘s reprisal is set to appear for the film’s release next year with a script by Greengrass and co-scribe Christopher Rouse. The past several years have shown signs of life for a few more ‘Bourne’ films with mainstays, actors Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner in the wind for reprising roles in their own Bourne films. Particularly in 2015 however, the recent news of actresses, returning franchise co-star Julia Stiles and newly added Ex-Machina star Alicia Vikander have remained productive in building up more hype in anticipation of further news. That effort continues now with word that actor Tommy Lee Jones will be joining the three principles for the upcoming film according to Variety. It’s been about a year since the most recent reports suggested, and then denied any possible attempt of reteaming director Paul Greengrass and actor Matt Damon for another installation of the Bourne franchise following the first trilogy… Oh, what a difference a year makes! It appears that Greengrass and folks at Universal were keeping a lid on things at first, and now Deadline is breaking the news that he and Damon are, in fact, on the pathway to another film of the franchise based on late author Robert Ludlum’s work. The Greengrass/Damon film is being tentatively dated for July 16, 2016, which was around the same day that director Justin Lin’s Bourne installation starring The Bourne Legacy (2012) lead actor Jeremy Renner was set to release after being pushed from its August 2015 date. A new report broke from Comic Book Movie on Thursday, with statements forwarded from Empire Online regarding filmmaker Paul Greengrass in relation to recent buzz on his return to the Bourne franchise. “I’ve absolutely no idea,” Greengrass told Empire Online. “I’m not being funny but, no, that’s just a figment of someone’s imagination.”. Twitch originally broke their version of the story back in late August.
