GHAATH: Chhatrapal Ninawe’s Long-Hindered Marathi Crime Thriller Gets Vindication With First Poster Ahead Of 73rd Berlinale

Director Chhatrapal Ninawe’s Marathi-language crime thriller, Ghaath, is finally set to get its day at Berlinale, according to Variety’s Naman Ramachandran who also debuted the film’s poster for its world premiere. The announcement comes after a long and hard-fought battle by Ninawe to get the film delivered, two years after then-producer Jio Studios pulled the film from screening at the 71st Berlinale after the film won the NFDC India WIP lab award. Ninawe documented this in accordance with the ensuing series of events in a social media post in which he accused Jio Studios (then-producer of the pic alongside Drishyam Films) of “blatant discrimination”, which you can read more about in our detailed report last May.
