RUTHLESS: Cameras Roll For New Action Thriller Starring Dermot Mulroney

Cameras are now rolling in Las Vegas, Nevada for the production of action thriller Ruthless, from director, action and stunt veteran Art Camacho. Actor Dermot Mulroney (Sleepless, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Young Guns) is starring from a script by co-written by Camacho and by James Dean Simington. In Ruthless, Mulroney plays a high school coach whose teenage daughter was previously killed but decides to take matters into his own hands by going after the men who kidnap one of his students for a sex trafficking operation. Elias Axume is producing for Los Angeles-based production, financing, and sales company, Premiere Entertainment Group , which handles worldwide sales. RUTHLESS: Dermot Mulroney Tapped To Headline Revenge Thriller From Art Camacho

Premiere Entertainment Group is launching sales at the American Film Market next month for Ruthless, a new revenge thriller from action veteran Art Camacho (Sci-Fighter, Wild League). Dermot Mulroney (RLJE Films’ Section 8, Amazon Prime series “Hanna”) is set to star from a script by Camacho and co-scribe James Dean Simington, with additional casting being finalized as cameras are set to roll next week Monday in Nevada. Mulroney will star as a high school coach “traumatized by the death of his daughter, who takes matters into his own hands by going after the men who kidnap one of his students for a sex trafficking operation.” Elias Axume is producing for Premiere with Al Bravo of Al Bravo Films. Its movement now brings us to the news of prolific costume designer Courtney Hoffman whose credits include Baby Driver and The Hateful Eight, as well as in directing with her most recent feminist Western short film, The Good Time Girls. The project was shot on 35mm and made it as part of the AFI Directing Workshop for Women and Refinery 29’s Shatterbox Anthology. Action Spec Script, RUTHLESS Lands Brad Petyon To Direct For Amblin

San Andreas helmer Brad Peyton is well on his way with several projects, one of which now includes the female-driven action thriller, Ruthless from scribe John Swetnam. Deadline reports that the film has since landed at Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners in the wake of the company’s latest investment by Universal Filmed Entertainment earlier this week joining Participant Media, Reliance Entertainment, eOne and Alibaba Pictures. Names of actresses are tentatively being considered off-radar for the lead role of the Swetnam’s script, which, while primed with its share of twists, sees a legendary assassin diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and forced back into her former life for one last job to secure her daughter’s future.
