HERCULES 3D Director Renny Harlin Drops Sequel Clues

Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2 and 12 Rounds director Renny Harlin is lining up post-production on his next hopeful blockbuster, Hercules 3D, starring Kellan Lutz, and also starring Liam McIntyre and Scott Adkins. With all hopes in place for a sequel, Empire got the most recent scoop from the director on what the next hopeful installment would entail. “Our story is the young Hercules, so I would say that the sequel will probably dive into the Labours.” Harlin says. “As you know, in the mythology Hercules ended up killing his wife and children, and as atonement he got the 12 Labours. The film stars Jacky Wu Jing in his latest stint as director, now working with actor and action cinema hero Scott Adkins. No word yet on what the plot of the film will be as it continues production, although we are left with knowing it will be a “comnando” style film. It’s been a little while since director Eric Styles wrapped up filming the new 3D action adventure film, then known as Legendary: Tomb Of The Dragon starring Scott Adkins and Dolph Lundgren. On Sunday, Styles tweeted a photo of a studio screenshot highlighting having completed post production, prior to the film’s “industry professional only” screening in Cannes this May 17 and 19. Today on Facebook, both official Facebook fan pages for Dolph Lundgren and Scott Adkins unveiled a new poster for the film, revealing a change to the new title, Legendary. No word yet on international release dates as of yet, but the film will get its release in China sometime this August. A source at Scott Adkins Fanz stated no other reason except that funding for the project at the last minute. The film was set to begin filming before the production of Expendables 3, starring Expendables alumni Scott Adkins and Randy Couture in a story described as a cross between Phillip Noyce’s 1989 thriller, Dead Calm, and Joe Carnahan’s 2012 action adventure film, The Grey, about a couple who sail out to the ocean to committ suicide, only to find themselves fighting for their survival after being interrupted by the arrival of another mysterious vessel.
