Fan favorite and classic Heisei-era tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Kuuga will be making it’s way to blu-ray as a further celebration of the franchise’s 50th anniversary. Originally premiered in Japan in 2000, Kuuga began the Heisei-era with a new spin on the original Kamen Rider formula, and to this day remains a must watch for new fans of tokusatsu and veterans alike. After the success of the Kamen Rider Zero-One release by Shout!, many thought this would follow, and on September 20, Kuuga finally has it’s moment in the spotlight!
TokuSHOUTsu made today a day to celebrate for more than just this author today, as November 1st is the day that fan favorite series Kamen Rider Ryuki finally is released in the west! In addition, pre-orders were opened for the upcoming Kamen Rider Zero-One series, a first of it’s kind release for the franchise.
The streaming channel TokuSHOUTsu, operated by Shout! Factory, today announced a special run of Godzilla film marathons for the month of November. The channel, which can be found on Plex, Pluto TV, TCL, Twitch, and Theta.tv, has so far been host to several tokusatsu films, including several from the Kamen Rider and Ultraman series. With this marathon, 17 films will air in chronological order.

Director Pearry Reginald Teo (The Gene Generation, The Assent) quietly emerged on ad-supported free streaming app, Tubi, with his latest action thriller, Fast Vengeance. Previously titled Burnout, Fast Vengeance stars D.Y. Sao, an actor and martial artist who’s been hustling for longer than I’ve been writing with small roles in films like Cradle 2 The Grave, and larger ones in indies like R.L. Scott’s martial arts action sequel, Champion Road: Arena.
Gogol trilogy director Egor Baranov will make his foray into North America’s home entertainment market with the proud release of his 2018 sci-fi thriller, The Blackout: Invasion Earth. Shout! Factory has set a June 2, 2020 rollout date for VoD, Digital and Blu-ray, and an official trailer is now running.
It’s taken a few years and all the while after languishing locally from its short-lived box office run, but the impending U.S./Canada release of Indonesian superhero actioner, Valentine: The Dark Avenger, has finally arrived with an official trailer. Shout! Factory acquired the rights earlier this year as reported during Carnaby’s sales run in Berlin and now the film will have a Blu-Ray and DVD rollout beginning May 14, with pre-orders now up and running at Shout! Factory, and effectively granting debut actress Estelle Linden a fair and promising international outing.
