Shout!, GKids Bring A 4K Triple Threat Of John Woo Classics Back Into Theaters In 2026

As if you needed a reason to go back to the movies and see a John Woo classic on the big screen… Tickets are on sale for a spell of limited theatrical 4K re-releases for three of the director’s greatest hits: Hard Boiled, A Better Tomorrow, and The Killer. Shout! Studios is ramping up the campaign via their Hong Kong Cinema Classics initiative, in association with GKids Films with a listing of up to 800 theater locations across the U.S., as revealed by Collider‘s Jeff Ewing on Wednesday. Shout! Nabs Golden Princess Library, Promising Asian Film Fans 100+ Titles Of Classics For Western Release

Variety’s Naman Ramachandran got the exclusive word on Monday that Shout! Studios has acquired the global rights to Golden Princess library of Hong Kong classic films. That’s a reported number of 156 titles that the boutique label will have on its catalogue for the foreseeable future. It also means that films by auteurs such as John Woo, Ringo Lam and Eric Tsang – included in the library – will finally get restorations with a number of features, in addition to bumping up the label’s own streaming stock. This is a total win for a plethora of reasons, especially for anyone who has been championing the collection of physical media as long as the next person with the ever-foreshadowing posterity of streaming becoming a factor. SRI ASIH: Shout! Acquires North American Rights For Indonesian Superhero Pic

It’s been a long time coming, but Indonesian superhero adventure Sri Asih finally has a home with Shout! Studios set to release the pic on multiple platforms later this year. Actress Pevita Pearce leads the cast of the film based on comic author R.A. Kosasih’s 1954 creation. Sri Asih is only the second in a string of comic book properties to be adapted out of the Screenplay Bumilangit wheelhouse. GUNFIGHT AT RIO BRAVO: Photos From Premiere Night This Week In Arizona

Shout! Studios proudly released Joe Cornet’s latest Western, Gunfight at Rio Bravo this month in select theaters and on Digital. The film also had its world premiere event with the stars and creators on hand at the Loft Cinema in Tucson, Arizona on Tuesday January 17. “When we were making “Gunfight at Rio Bravo” in 2021, I fell in love with Arizona, and we made another one in 2022, so we made two already. This is the first one, and I’m very happy to present it,” said the action film’s main star and three-time Mr. Universe Alexander Nevsky. GUNFIGHT AT RIO BRAVO: Catch The Trailer For Alexander Nevsky’s New Western Thriller

Shout! Studios has unveiled the official trailer and poster for Gunfight At Rio Bravo, the new Western thriller from director Joe Cornet. The film stars and is produced by Alexander Nevsky, and also stars Cornet along with Matthias Hues, Olivier Gruner, Natalie Denise Sperl, Kerry Goodwin, and John Fallon. In Gunfight At Rio Bravo, Nevsky plays a mysterious Russian gunslinger who aids a marshal and a sheriff as they stand up to a bloodthirsty outlaw gang known as The Hellhounds who have invaded their small East Texas town. Cornet directs from a script by Craig Hamann, with Nevsky producing the film for Hollywood Storm, and ETA Films’ Eric Brenner and San Rafael Productions’ Cornet executive producing. Shout! will host a limited theatrical release next year on January 13, followed by a digital and national home entertainment release on January 17.
