SILVER & BLACK Lands Two Screenwriters For A Spring Start Date

Sony’s upcoming incarnation, Silver & Black, has reportedly landed two prime screenwriters in the form of Lindsey Beer (upcoming Chaos Walking) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (upcoming Tomb Raider), according to The Hollywood Reporter. Both are following up from a previous draft written by Thor scribe Christopher Yost who preceded that of writer Gina Prince Bythewood (The Secret Life Of Bees) who is set to direct. Previous reports in the past few months from sites including The Hashtag Show and Omega Underground have revealed that principal photography is set to commence this March through June under the working title “Tri-Border”, with locations in Atlanta, Georgia along with some scenes in Mexico. Sony’s SILVER AND BLACK Lands A 2019 Release; More Dates/Changes Announced For Other Titles

Casting news remains pending on Silver And Black, one of Sony Pictures’s currently-brewing Marvel adaptations for which Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball, The Secret Life Of Bees, Freeform’s Cloak & Dagger – pilot) will direct. Until then, the word now is that the studio has officiated several release dates for up-and-coming titles, including the new comic book adaptation which Bythewood is penning from Thor scribe Christopher Yost’s previous draft. A February 8, 2019 has been bookmarked for Silver And Black, for which Sony’s Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal are producing with Columbia Pictures executives Palak Patel and Eric Fineman are overseeing. Sony Pictures landed its latest trailers just on Wednesday landing heavily on its campaign with less than a month and a half to go before its release of Spider-Man: Homecoming starring Tom Holland. I suppose that doesn’t mean Sony is dropping the ball as active as they have shown themselves for the fledgling Marvel reboot that has since brought forth its own cinematic Spiderverse into the headlines with talk of an R-rated Venom and a female-driven adventure within the same universe. Of course latter had been stirring since 2014 and just this year it was confirmed that mercenary Silver Sable and boundless burglar Black Cat would be at the center of the film.
