Marvel, Sony To Reboot Spider-Man Through Phase Three By 2017

A lot happened last year that former Sony co-chairwoman Amy Pascal probably wish didn’t. Words were said, things were leaked, drama ensued, and I had already long before given up on keeping up all of Sony’s Spider-related business because of so many moving pieces (i.e., the previously remaining release dates of the Andrew Garfield Spidey quadrilogy, Drew Goddard’s earlier plans for The Sinister Six and Venom, plans a female-centric Spidey film, etc.) It’s been cray-cray (you read that right), and likely a little more so with the morbitidy among fans regarding dimmed hopes that your friendly neighborhood wall-crawling, web-flinging superhero would ever see his way into the Marvel Universe what with all its grand plans between now and 2020. 'Wolves' Helmers To Exact VENGEANCE For Sony

As certain as we are that movie remakes are not going away anytime soon, Israeli filmmakers Navot Papushado and Aharon Keshales are re-emerging once again to verify that fact. The two received notable praise from moviegoers and the press as they toured the festival circuit last year with their latest murder mystery interrogation thriller, Big Bad Wolves. The film eventually earned its share of accolades last year with mostly positive reviews before releasing earlier in North America courtesy of Magnet Releasing. Well, it appears Papushado and Keshales clearly presented just the kind of tone and vision that could appeal to a broader audience. Sony Pictures’s current success of The Amazing Spider-Man franchise has played a major role in branching into its own universe with the forthcoming production of The Sinister Six, with at least two more movies featuring the classic wall-crawling character. That said, with the prominence of female characters and overall impact of women in comic book and movie lore, it appears Sony Pictures has heard the call to take its creativity in another direction. Sony has officially undergone efforts to revamp the Spider-Man film franchise to work on a female superheroine to the big screen, according to a new report from Deadline. Anyone here grow up playing Sonic The Hedgehog on SEGA back in the 1990’s? I did, and loved every minute of my childhood because of it.
