FIVE FINGERS FOR MARSEILLES: Don’t Miss The Official Trailer For The Slick SA Western Thriller

Debut director Michael Matthews is finally out to make 2018 his banner year with the upcoming release of post-apartheid South African thriller, Five Fingers For Marseilles. Following a short, albeit robust film festival run and reception late last year, the first official trailer arrived this week hailing a seven year-long effort for Matthews who also shares producing credits with longtime cohort, screenwriter Sean Drummond. Twenty years ago, the young ‘Five Fingers’ fought against brutal police oppression for the safe-keeping of the rural town of Marseilles. Now, after fleeing in disgrace, freedom-fighter-turned-‘outlaw’ Tau returns to Marseilles, seeking only a peaceful pastoral life. The Beyoncé crowd may be the ones flooding the theaters for next year’s Valentines’ Day week release of director Sam Taylor-Johnson’s 50 Shades Of Grey next year, with lead actor and former Calvin Klein model Jamie Dornan in the lead role. Gladly however, swooning the female moviegoing demographic won’t be all for the actor by then, who now has at least one other new in the works – a new political action thriller titled The Siege Of Jadotville. Here’s the skinny: Based on a true story, the film centres on the siege of 150 UN Irish troops in the Congo in 1961. 150 UN Irish troops led by Commandant Pat Quinlan in the Congo in 1961, after the Pro-western leader Moise Tshombe took control of the Katanga region and killed the Congolese leader Patrice Lumumba. Accalimed writer and director Donovan Marsh‘s latest South African crime thriller, iNumber Number, is aiming to set a trend as the nation’s first real domestic action film, having earned huge critical praise during its 2013 film festival run. And this week, we now have a new featurette for the award-winning film which finally extends itself across borders for its forthcoming day-and-date release on April 25, 2014 courtesy of Wrekin Hill Entertainment. iNumber Number stars S’dumo Mtshali, Presley Chweneyagae, Israel Makoe and Owen Sejake.
