THE HUNTRESSES Are Back With A New Trailer And Posters

A new slate of posters and a trailer have gone viral this month for Wellmade STARM’s upcoming Joseon Period fantasy femme fatale action comedy, The Huntresses. Following a production that lasted from August to December of 2012, the film was originally promised a theatrical South Korean release earlier this summer with teasers, stills and trailers aired online, and a slew of colorful character posters promoting the film before post-production issues interfered. Fortunately the film now has a Korean theatrical release set for this January, in addition to some new promotional poster art to get things rolling, which you can check out below. Park Hoon-Jung's NEW WORLD Comes To Sony

Deadline has reported that Sony has acquired the rights to remake the South Korean action crime drama, NEW WORLD, for American audiences. The remake will be produced by Roy Lee, Dan Lin and Jon Silk, and written by Will Fetters (A Star Is Born, Crazy For The Storm). The news comes less than a month after North American distribution company theatrically released the film in March. The South Korean actioner was nominated twice at the Baeksang Arts Awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. The film stars Lee Jung-jae, Choi Min-shik and Hwang Jung-min and produced by Min-jung Park, Hyun-woo Kim, Jae-Duk Han and Woo-Taek Kim. According to a report from City On Fire, the official website for CJ Entertainmemt has announced a limited theatrical release in select cities for the upcoming South Korean Mixed Martial Arts drama, Fists Of Legend. Twitch recently reported a new teaser for the upcoming period Korean action comedy, The Huntresses starring Ha Ji-won, Kang Ye-won and Korean pop singer Son Ga-in, produced by Wellmade STARM and and directed by Park Je-hyun with Showbox/Mediaplex handling distribution. The film is described as a cross between Charlie’s Angels and The Three Musketeers with an Asian period twist, with characters the director described as styled to fit traits emulated by action cinema icons Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li.
