PARADOX: Well Go USA Debuts The Official Trailer For The New Action Thriller

It feels like forever since director Wilson Yip (Ip Man franchise) made headlines with trailers for his most recent film, Paradox. Heck, even keeping up with its context made it difficult to assert what its official title was after it was renamed from its preliminary title, Fate, going into production. Needless to say, selling this film as something of a narrative tangent or a direct-third installment of the SPL franchise was a great way to get coverage. Its overall look and delivery in terms of footage certainly lens it so on top of Louis Koo leading the way as a father on an all-or-nothing mission to rescue his daughter – an all too familiar premise that for all intents and purposes, still works here. PARADOX Gets A Stimulating New Trailer And Behind-The-Scenes Featurette

Director Wilson Yip’s latest narrative S.P.L. induction, Paradox, is inching closer to its release in Asia later this month and throughout the Fall and I’m really moreso concerned when we’ll hear on its distribution elsewhere. Everyone and their next of kin is sold on this one as I am and the latest trailer and BTS featurette now online haven’t changed that in the least. As far as the story goes, it’s actor Louis Koo front and center as a Hong Kong cop on a desperate search for his missing daughter, coupled with a series of dark twists and events that arise with the disappearance of a tape that shows her kidnapping. Rest assured, the martial arts fan demographic is still reeling over catching Tony Jaa aligned with some of the best of the best in Jesse Johnson’s upcoming thriller, Triple Threat. That film comes in 2018 and its going to be a sight to see when it arrives while this year has already proven itself fruitful in its promise for the genre with films like the new action crime pic, Paradox, opening next month in theaters and now has a new trailer to show for it. PARADOX Unveiled As A Part Of The SPL Franchise In The Latest Poster

Wilson Yip’s latest, Sha Po Lang: Paradox, is on deck for an August 25 release… Yep. You read that correctly. Apparently the film’s Chinese title as shown on the newest poster now unveils the film’s standing as something of an installment of the Sha Po Lang crime saga. I can’t really explain why but given the sort of nebulous treatment of the narrative and how the characters added and otherwise written as well as the seemingly stark, spiritual aesthetic applied here, I can understand why Bravos would want to go this route. It sort of works, kind of like an anthology piece or a spin-off piece considering there is actually a third Sha Po Lang film in the works subtitled as Lord Needs War as of 2015.
