Alexander Nevsky’s days of Western indie action are far from over as he heads up Taken From Rio Bravo, now out with official key art and a July 19 theatrical release date from ITN Studios. The film, a sequel to last year’s Gunfight At Rio Bravo, is directed by Joe Cornet who reprises his role opposite Nevsky, with a script by Craig Hamann. Taken From Rio Bravo sees the return of the mysterious gunslinger John Basil Turchin who teams up with a sheriff in pursuit of a gang of sadistic human traffickers known as The Posse, who have kidnapped five women. Rounding out the cast are Cynthia Rothrock, Kerry Goodwin, Don “The Dragon” Wilson, James Chalke, Irina Antonenko, Matthias Hues, John Fallon, Robert Madrid and Tatiana Neva round out the key cast, with an original score by Sean Murray who also penned the film’s title track, performed by Neva. ITN Distribution has acquired North American rights Taken From Rio Bravo, the sequel to Joe Cornet’s Gunfight At Rio Bravo starring Alexander Nevsky (Showdown In Manila, Black Rose). Nevsky, a three-time Mr. Universe bodybuilding champion, is again joined by Cornet who co-stars, as well as directs from a script by Craig Hamann. Based on a real life brigadier general who led the Union army during the Civil War, Nevsky reprises his role as Ivan Turchin, a mysterious gunslinger who, in the first film, joins Sheriff Vernon Kelly (Cornet) in taking down a vicious gang. In Taken From Rio Bravo, Turchin and Kelly set out to pursue a gang of sadistic human traffickers – known as The Posse – who have kidnapped five women. Penned by Craig Hamann, the film features Alexander Nevsky who leads the cast once more as the mysterious Russian gunslinger who, in the first film, rises up to help liberate a small town from a bloodthirsty gang of outlaws. Actor and independent film producer Alexander Nevsky (Black Rose) is rolling cameras this month for Taken From Rio Bravo. The film is a direct sequel to his latest western, Assasult On Rio Bravo, with actor and filmmaker Joe Cornet (Promise) back at the helm as announced last August upon greenlight. The first film sees Nevsky as a foreign gunslinger in 1875, who is pit against a bloodthirsty gang of outlaws in Texas. Plot details for the sequel are under wraps but a description for the new chapter bills it as an Expendables-style thriller set in the Wild West, with our heroes setting out on a dangerous rescue mission.
