Action Thriller, FAST, Circles ‘Warrior’, ‘The Accountant’ Director

Gavin O’Connor’s 2016 action drama, The Accountant, was a homerun in 2016 which grew into sequel development the following summer. As of late, O’Connor and actor Ben Affleck are well on the way with sports drama, Torrance, hopefully this year while sequel business on the former remain pending with updates. In the meantime, Variety‘s own Justin Kroll has it on good terms that the director of the hit 2011 MMA drama, Warrior, is in negotiations to sit in and direct Fast at Warner Bros. According to Kroll, the film would have followed-up Sicario 1 and 2 scribe Taylor Sheridan’s credentials as director after Vile (2011), the hit neo-Western murder mystery, Wind River (2017), and Paramount Network series, Yellowstone. Trade news sources are confirming a September 18, 2020 release date for Tom Clancy novel adaptation, Without Remorse. The news arrived on Monday on the same day the film’s lead actor Michael B. Jordan, landed a lucrative first-look TV deal with Amazon Studios. Set during the Vietnam War, Without Remorse centers its focus on John Kelly, a former NAVY Seal whose latest mission for the CIA lands him the new identity. The production marks a reunion for writer Taylor Sheridan and director Stefano Sollima who last worked together on the riveting crime sequel, Sicario 2: Day Of The Soldado. The film is also one of two in which Jordan will claim the role following previous screen performances by Willem Dafoe and Liev Schreiber. Jordan is also producing next to Akiva Goldsman.

In one of the most brilliant and best moves made in cinema, Paramount is now segueing to prolific screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, Hell Or High Water) pen the script for Without Remorse, first on the block for the studio’s two developing Tom Clancy adaptations; the other being Rainbow Six. Creed and Creed 2 star Michael B. Jordan is tapped to star in the film taking the mantle as John Clark, a fixture in seventeen of the late Clancy’s twenty-five “Jack Ryan” novels. Akiva Goldsman is spearheading as the main producer. FAST: Taylor Sheridan Taps Chris Pratt To Star

There are no setbacks for actor Chris Pratt who is now in discussions to star in Taylor Sheridan’s next venture according to Variety on Wednesday evening. Under the working title, Fast, the project centers on a special forces commando tapped by the DEA to lead a black-ops unit targeting drug dealers protected by the CIA. The move would be especially pivotal for Pratt following the fallout over the recently-shelved Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 3 in what would have been the actor’s fourth Star-Lord reprisal in Disney’s MCU. Sheridan work continues to be celebrated stemming from screenwriting duties on 2016 crime opus, Sicario, and his riveting must-see 2017 directorial feature, Wind River. Sheridan is set to direct the tentatively titled Fast from his own script with David Heyman producing.

This, no less, is a considerable achievement contributed thanks in part to good writing, and namely worth noting for Taylor Sheridan in lieu of his latest attachment to a new project witd director David MacKenzie whose own laurels span far greater with praise following his award-winning 2013 drama, Starred Up.
